I tried to super chat to ask about when we might expect Legolas to go up for preorder but youtube wouldn't let me.
Later on John said 8-10 POs this year, most likely that includes everything which they showed already but didnt put up for PO yet, so good question if at all Legolas can get in there.
As of now we have MJ, Atreides, Daenerys, Thorin, Dumbledore, Hermione, Ron, Reeves Superman, thats already 8 out of those 8-10.
So if they stick to this then we might get to see 2 more figures this year which we havent seen yet. And I would bet that at least 1 will be a DC character.

Asmus growing pains.

KG Hobby finally shipped mine! My experience with them is that they're fine just take forever and they often put like 100 stamps on a box and call it a day, and their packages usually end up at the post office for pickup. I missed the original pre-order cutoff so scrambled to find someone to order from. Of course, everyone else re-opened their pre-orders a week later!

Was watching LOTR Fellowship extended edition and noticed when Gandalf goes to Minas Tirith he has his silver sash it's brief but it's there. Anyone feel we should have at least gotten that with this or not really.

They said in that interview that they missed a few things due to them not acquiring some pictures. So it wasn’t their fault.

It’s why we don’t have a prototype of Legolas yet. They’re waiting to get as much info as possible so it’s accurate

Looks like it's actually a scarf and not a sash. I personally don't care because I wouldn't have known about it if you never mentioned it. :lol I checked and he quite literally has it for 2 seconds and then it disappears. Funny that they had him wear it for such a quick blink and you miss it moment. Neat detail though! Still learning something new about these movies today.

That's what I meant. Lol

I’ve noticed that some on you did some work with the hair? Was it just soap and water? I haven’t messed with the hair on mine yet? View attachment 687210
Yep, follow what Holo said. Just take your time. The beard is what really needed the work on mine and it looks like on yours as well. There is some product in the beard as well, so once you work water into it then it will start to form better.

For as absolutely thrilled as I am with Gandalf overall, I have to echo what others about this God Awful base. I very much like the look of it, and the idea behind the use of the magnets is both innovative and cool, but they either need to COMPLETELY re-engineer the design with MUCH stronger magnets over the ENTIRE surface of the base, or scrap the whole idea ENTIRELY!

It just doesn’t work as is. The magnets are so weak that even if you find them and get Gandalf’s feet over one or both perfectly, he’s just not very stable. My Gandalf has taken at least two or three tumbles already (the most recent one only a moment ago which is why I had to get on and post this right away). Thing is, you don’t need to bump into him or have another figure domino him, all you have to do is lightly GRAZE his cloak when reaching for him to have the magnets lose him. No way to overstate the frustration of watching the centerpiece of my collection just fall off the table.

All these instances have been either just falling off the base onto the surface the base was sitting on, or tumbling off a low table onto carpet, so there’s been no damage, but it’s still nerve wracking!

Maybe @Cocoboloboy or someone can design a crotch grabber mounted at the back of a slim but study plastic base about the same dimensions of the InArt base the we can set the InArt base on top of so the crotch grabber will hold Gandalf more securely and still have the look of the stone base.

Or, even better, just a crotch grabber built onto a base that resembles the InArt base. I’d buy that at the speed of light!

@QuiGonFishing I had a customer contact me earlier this week about a stand add on plate similar to the ones in the pics but with a mounting post incorporated into it for the IA stands so I’ve already got some designs in mind. Gandalf’s will be a special set up due to his clothing. As soon as I get mine from Kit I’ll have a prototype worked up.

I know they said in their last YouTube interview that they are working on the bases for future releases. Sounded like The Batman will have these same bases, but the new ones may start with Potter. He mentioned looking into the entire base being magnetic and using different magnets as well.

oh man. I had to take out my old asmus Gandalf stand after watching my gandalf fall over. If he gets damaged its over. Im not going to spend $1000 to replace him. I might incorporate the Magnetic gandalf stand as a table for the Anduril shards when Aragorn releases. He will never get on that thing again
