You can add me to the list of people who's dome has started to disintegrate. Id been checking it regularly and it always looked fine.
On Saturday, a week after checking it last, i noticed the cracking had started. I applied mod podge straightaway.
Im in the uk, Ed has been on display since July...
A sad day today!! Just checked my ed209 and the cracking has started. Been on display, out of sunlight since July. Having to start the mod podge straightaway as the cracks are small at the moment.
Thanks, found a guide last night and sure enough it looked very easy. Went to my mancave to measure up and realised i cant actually fit the ikea unit in there. Gutted!!! i can only fit a cabinet in there that would fit two 1/4 figures, not three. I guess ill have to continue my search.
No cracks on mine. Have some mod podge at the ready, just as a precaution. No need to apply it though as Ed looks as good as the day i took him out the box.
My dome is still fine 8 weeks in. i would like to do some preventative measures though. I have some mod podge but this Honda grease sounds good.
Does anyone know what a uk equivalent is? i cant find any reasonably priced shin-etsu grease over here.
I agree, i didnt even realise it was going to be rubber again. When i opened the box, first thing i thought was WOW! then i saw the rubber dome and thought "holy crap, they did it again"!!
I really thought they would have gone down the route Neca took with a plastic dome. Even the plastic dome...
Id also like to add, whilst i agree that its terrible that there are problems with this, its not uncommon for toys to have issues. All of my neca 1/4 scale figures, i picked by hand in stores and checked all of their paintwork. quite a few new releases have had sloppy paintwork. the were reports...
Not at all. I had brought mine before I was aware of any issues. If I had known, I wouldn't of brought it.
I'm stuck with it, I may as we'll enjoy it. I'm prepared if anything does happen to it. Otherwise he's taking pride of place next to robo.
My ED209 is now 3 weeks old. No sign of cracking yet. i have a tub of mod podge ready for the first sign of deterioration. Gotta admit, i do love it. there's no way i could send it back. I'm prepared to fix it if necessary.
