Dinosauria: Upcoming maquettes (Mosasaur, new T-Rex & Ceratops concept)

Hey, I'd never take anything away from Luis V. Rey's work!!! The man does some truly stunning paleoart. And I absolutely think there's a place for flamboyant coloration in paleontological fauna, where the ecology allows for its development. Particularly for conspecific interactions. But...

Dinosauria: Upcoming maquettes (Mosasaur, new T-Rex & Ceratops concept)

What can I say, Ricardo? I'm a fan of well-crafted paleo-characters. ;) And thank you for continually providing them. My fiance wants us to get "AoR: The Journey" #1-4 framed for our guest room or study. Can't argue with that; a good idea is a good idea. :) You make a solid point about...

Dinosauria: Upcoming maquettes (Mosasaur, new T-Rex & Ceratops concept)

I have to say, I really love these pieces. The Mosasaur is, curiously, in EXACTLY the pose that I envisioned a Sideshow Mosasaur would be rendered. It's a pose that possesses a lot of grace, similar to David Krentz's Tylosaurus. Plus, the ammonite and shark are very welcome accents. This...

    Dinosauria:Dilophosaurus Maquette

When I get a chance, I'll try to post some better pics in natural lighting. Maybe this weekend? Weekends are usually better for me, so I'll try to give it a shot on Saturday morning!

    Dinosauria:Dilophosaurus Maquette

Hey gang! Hope all is well with you guys! Sorry again that I don't check in more frequently... work and getting engaged recently have kept me pretty busy. Just received this beautiful pair in the mail today. They look outstanding displayed with one another, and I really do enjoy the paint...

Al Swearengen bust by Andy Bergholtz

Does anyone have, or know where I could find, the bust of Deadwood's Al Swearengen by Andy Bergholtz? I've been looking to acquire one for some time, and was wondering if any of you guys had one with which you'd be willing to part, or knew where I might look to acquire one. Any help would be...

    JURASSIC PARK

Thanks, gang! Good to be back, even if only periodically! And couldn't agree more about the Ankylosaur, Blade! :lol

    JURASSIC PARK

Greetings, ladies and gents! Sorry for my EXTREMELY lengthy absence, even though it's not likely to abate any time soon. Work, teaching, wrapping up a graduate degree, and packing to move have left VERY little time for me to contribute here. Glad my fellow Dino-Freaks like Blade and Dan have...

    Dinosauria: Stegosaurus

I added in the youngling bit. A bit of a two-fold motivation in mind - first, it's a rarely used moniker for juveniles so it seemed appropriate; and secondly because I thought the Star Wars fans might get a grin. :) That was a large part of my goal with this one. Everything in the backstories...

    Dinosauria: Stegosaurus

Hope it's well received, ladies and germs! Just popping in to say "howdy," in the parlance of our times. Let me know what you think of the backstory! :D

Green Goblin life size bust.. Link to buy in 1st post !!

I have no problem with it looking like a distinct face, as long as it retains some mask-like qualities, such as the lenses for eyes. It looks too much like an old crone. The chin is too long and pointed; the color green is less of a deep green and more of a wan, yellowish, sickly shade; and...

And a more blunted, rather than quite so pointed, chin would have helped.

Green Goblin life size bust.. Link to buy in 1st post !!

Re: #3 in the Previous post... I think it's the way the front of the cap is laying on the forehead. It looks like there's no angle, no sharp point. It should bow up over the eyes and arc with the eye orbits, then dip down to a sharp point between and above the eyes. Right now it's settling...
