I actually thought about doing that. LOL! If it wasn't for looking like a nerd being a grown man with a giant toy Batmobile walking through their door I'd do it.

I'm not sure if it's a true flat black as there is a mild sheen to it. That's the problem. If Hot Toys used a specific formula of paint that they mixed, it would be extremely hard to match correctly. That's why I think one would have to paint the entire car. Not that that's a bad thing. I think...

I hope so. That factory paint on the car is a very weird shade of black. You may wind up in a situation where you then have to repaint the whole car. In retrospect, if the scratches are not very bad I would just leave it be. Call it light "battle damage". I just wish I had done that. I thought...

A good idea. The ***** will be masking it off. Depends how finicky you are about details. The benefits of a repaint will be that probably any paint you use will be harder that that stuff Hot Toys used that scratches when the wind blows.

Still polished. Looks like crap. Been disassembled for over a year awaiting a repaint. I just don't have the time.

This has been stated before. I have all 3 versions of Novus and it will POLISH your finish so that it will no longer match the rest of the car. It ruined mine and I used a VERY light touch with it. It is a great product and works on clear windows because they are smooth and glossy. Just trying...

For those that care I found out that you CAN iron out the wrinkles in the cape using a steam iron on low. Just iron the fabric side carefully. Start on low heat and slowly increase heat until you reach a point to where you see the wrinkles coming out. Mine looks great now.

No, probably with either Tamiya spray paints or an airbrush. Gonna make a temp spray booth on my patio with plastic sheeting- IF I ever get around to it that is!

I did and that's why I now have to repaint. The polished areas look much worse than the minor scratches.

No, but I can take some. I'll try and post a few before Thanksgiving.

(Repainting) 1/6 Hot Toys 1989 Batmobile

Good luck! I've had mine totally apart for a year now. Just dont have the time for it. It is a much more extensive job than it appears, especially the screens and windshields and such. Be prepared to grind and break glue bonds and plastic welds. Not trying to discourage you, just want you to...

The new one is more rubbery than the first. I wouldn't really mind it if it wasn't so wrinkled. The rubber seems to hold a set more than the material in the first cape.

Same here on the cape. Mine has some bad wrinkles and they dont seem to want to come out no matter what I've tried. Why couldn't they have just stuck with the other material which was great?

At least BBTS is still shipping with good protective padding and oversize boxes. Mine arrived well protected.

1/6 Batman 1989: Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I've actually had my Batmobile completely disassembled for over a year with the plan to repaint it a more durable semi flat back. It started with me taking the body off to access the interior in order to add lights to the gauges and afterburners. From there it wasn't too far of a stretch to go...
