The legs look like they're not pushed-in. From the initial reviews and pics I saw, this armor functions like a Gunpla with drop-down thighs and moving parts.
Saw this on a new review up on YT. This profile view of the headsculpt got RDJ right IMO. So now I'm not really sure why the head looks odd in some photos.
The headsculpt was hard to gauge due to his lighting but when he posed the figure with the headsculpt on a side view, it actually looked really good. I really hope it really looks good in person.
I won't wish for the BD Mk85 to have an awful headsculpt like this version, but coming from someone who doesn't have unlimited funds and ordered this figure months before the BD version was announced, it would suck if the BD Mk85 Tony Stark headsculpt turns out infinitely better than this. I...
The only thing that worries me about this figure is the inevitable bleeding dye on the headsculpt from the robe. I mean, you just can't display the Emperor without the hood on, it's part of his appeal for heaven's sake.
Holy balls guys, this thread may be a contender for the most nitpicked Hot Toys ever created. Not trying to discredit everyone's opinions, but man, I haven't seen this much criticism for a figure in a long, long time! (in a galaxy far, far away)
Personally, instead of leaving it to the...
I really don't get the bitching and hate that this figure got on the Facebook comments. It's actually nice that Hot Toys diversify themselves into making these kinds of figures, as it benefits them on their craft. I like the movie enough so I may pick this up just for giggles.
Emailed Hot Toys about it, but I'm not expecting a replacement head since I threw away the receipt from the authorized seller. :( Still worth trying though.
Has anyone experienced this with Hot Toys headsculpts in general? Putting Doctor Strange here as an example. The headsculpt is fine on the naked eye, but when you look at it from a certain angle or on a harsher light, there's a "sweat-like" gloss / paint chip? on it. Only noticed this 2 months...
- ESB Boba Fett with Han Solo on Carbonite
- ESB Han (to pair with Hoth Leia)
- ESB Lando
- Bespin Luke re-release (or a Pilot Luke with Dagobah weathering)
Got a Yoda as a christmas gift from my GF (she knows that I'm too bothered with the price tag for a small figure hence she just bought it so I could stop whining about it lol). Luckily she picked a V3 version and I agree, this figure is more awesome on-hand. I got a few nits though -- the belt...
I initially ordered a Rogue One Darth Vader as my first Hot Toys figure, but the box arrived in a very bad shape. Since the busted up Vader was their last stock, the seller offered me Obi-Wan on a very, very good price as a temporary replacement while waiting on my new Vader. Needless to say...
