Picked up the Walmart Hasbro 12” Speeder bike some time ago and decided to give it a makeover. From what I can see, it looks similar in size to the Sideshow Speeder Bike, maybe just a bit shorter on the back end. Otherwise it looked like it could be a good upgrade compared to the old Hasbro...
Thanks for the comments! I’ll try to explain how I went about this and try to keep it short
Let me start off by saying it’s not a mod for the feint of heart. I ran into quite a lot of problems. One of the problems being that when R2’s dome was taken apart, the wiring came off the projector...
Just wanted to share my R2 mod I've done with the dome parts. Made the periscope and sensor raise a bit higher, lightsaber hatch area stays open and lightsaber locks into place. The features on the dome always bugged me and how they didn't function as well as I hoped. I'm happy with the minor...
The black trim around the mouth is styrene cut out in the shape of an upside down U. Was going to use thin black electrical wire but didn't have any on hand.
Wanted to share my modded up Biker Scout helmet. Trimmed a bit off the bottom of the helmet, shortened the gray mouth area and added a black trim. Biker scout is not so long in the face anymore but still angry. :wink1:

So, the heads will be offered under the banner, Shrunken Heads! A friend of mine wants to contribute some of his stellar sculpts. Got to see the one he's currently working on and it's damn sweet! Saves me the trouble of having to sculpt one. I figure it would be easier to have it all under...
Here are a few more pics. Wasnt too happy with the shiny face after looking at the earlier pics, so I gave it a matte coat today. It's amazing how much the matte just deadens the colors. I'm liking it a little more.
Couldn't resist. :)
So, finished up the paints on my head. I'm good with it. It can go up on my shelf now and collect dust. :)
One thing i did was create water decals for his hazel colored eyes. Its amazing what the camera picked up because I cant see the details with my own eyes. I'm glad the decals turned...
Sorry I didnt get back to you, but the first batch is done and just waiting. Held off on selling the heads until i've finished painting a head for myself. I'll post up pics and and create an interest thread. Should be up this week. Thanks.
Sorry, didnt get around to this, but the skin application is done on top of the 3d print using primer paint to create the texture. I would think it wouldnt be an issue to do it on sculpey as long as it was baked first.
***Update***
I'm sitting on a pile of these heads and there's only a few heads left that need some clean up. I'll be visiting comic-con this week and I'm going to try and see if I can paint up a sample. So next week guaranteed. Thanks for everybody's patience!
***Update***
There was some delay as my mold went bad. Took a few tries but I created a new one I was happy with. I'm going to say next week for the initial run of these. I'd like to paint one up to show, but i've been too busy casting. :( We'll see...
