I usually get emails from ebay with them. But they usually expire pretty quick (same day typically). I try to save the 1/6 purchases for when the codes pop up.

Ok...so I need to be checking those from now on. eBay stuff goes to inbox I never check.

Is it just me or do the pants seem really really thin? Like I was afraid to touch them

This guy needs a lining on his cape! Dr. Strange had one! The Royal guards had cape linings! Why did HT cheap out on this figure? Kind of a bummer on an overall great piece

It's a pity eBay UK don't offer the same

I’m very impressed wirh Kylo, it may be the best Star Wars portrait yet.

There are issues though..

I immediately lengthened his way too short neck by swapping the adapter wirh a standard HT plug. I also repositioned all the magnets so the cape sat further outward.

His legs are also too skinny, I wrapped them in athletic tape.

He finally arrived today from BBTS.

I'm very tempted by this, but part of me doesn't really need a version of each of these figures from each movie. And I'm kind of tempted to wait to see what his look in Episode 9 is like. But on the other hand, it is a cool figure.

That's very fair, and I was actually thinking the same for the longest. I was originally going to sell my TFA Kylo since I have this one (I actually still might to be completely honest) but they actually look really great if you have TLJ Kylo unmasked, one masked and one unmasked one looks pretty cool. However I only own like 5 Hot Toys and it's kind of weird from a collector's stance when your figure funds and/or shelf space is limited and you have a duplicate of a character. And maybe the next Kylo will be some crazy badass look, but this guy meets & exceeds all of my expectations, I absolutely love it.

I'm really enjoying this version of Kylo Ren. The portrait is really nice, some of Hot Toys finest work IMO. The swap out helmeted sculpt is awesome.:yess:

Happy to display him next to his TFA self...really looking forward to how the character looks in ep IX.

If you want both versions of Kylo in one figure all you really have to do is track down the hooded cape and long tunic from
The first parted out and you can swap out until your heart’s continent. I tried my tunic and hood on this body and it works perfect. The only thing he will rrealy have that is inaccurate are his leather hot pants underneath which you can’t even see anyways.

Yeah, I'd love to have an unmasked Kylo next to my masked one. So... that makes it easier to think about this at some point. I'm kind of in the same jam with Rey and whether to get the TLJ one. I think it'd be cool to get a new Rey and fully gear up the scavenger Rey at some point.

Curious on your thoughts here, guys. Was very excited to finally get ahold of this rare melted Vader mask from Creg customs but the seller did a really bad job packing the actual helmet and tons of paint chipped off in transit in multiple places (stand meanwhile managed to arrive perfectly).

Would you just send back to seller for full refund (he’s international), try to get a partial refund and get it repainted? I don’t have any skills to do that myself. These don’t show up all that often so it really sucks that this one was damaged.

That sucks, dude! Sorry it happened!
I guess, if there's a silver living - it's that it happened to the burned/destroyed version of the mask rather than something that's supposed to look pristine.

Either way, you should at least ask them for a partial refund due to damage. It's highly unlikely they'll say no, as I'm sure the seller doesn't want to try to sell it again now that it's busted. IF they say no or anything to that effect, you can request a full refund and eBay will step in if they give you ****.

All you need to decide is about painting it. I don't think that would be too difficult for that piece? Might wanna ask some of the guys like Davejames who do 1/6 customs a lot, but I imagine just some clear coat and black paint would do the trick.

I think asking for a 20-30% refund depending on how you feel about it is fair. The ball is totally in your court on this, since they packed it terribly on their end. You can either get a partial refund that you're happy with, or just get a full refund. Whatever you decide to do, send messages w pics to the seller atm to let them know what's up. Make sure to indicate in your message (in a non-aggressive way) that it was poorly packed. That way if you need to make a case with eBay later, they'll see you contacted them right away and all that jazz.

Also, IF you do return it, remember that the seller needs to pay return shipping fees.

Painting won't be a hassle. You just need some matte black.
It's a cool piece. Just put some matte black primer on it.
If you want to go the whole hog, you can clean off the original paint first.
We have all sold stuff and occasionally had something go awry in the post.
The guy most likely didn't set out to swindle you. He put bubble wrap on it and hoped that would work(Without realising that bubble wrap can react with certain paint...). Obviously, it's your choice to make as to whether you'd want a refund, but if this piece is so rare, i'd counsel that you do a quick refurb on it yourself. It's not going to be hard.
I can easily walk you through what you'd need to do to make that thing pop.

:duff Very much appreciate the feedback, Username.

I think asking about a partial refund makes sense and then trying to figure out how to get the helmet back in good (melted/destroyed) shape again. I'll let you know how it turns out.

For those of you who own this can you answer a question for me? Does the helmeted portrait have the peg/ neck piece come out so you can pose Kylo holding his helmet? Thanks so much in advance!
