Paint still lacks some life, but clearly the sculpt detail is there and it's still the best Silence sculpt of Hopkins on the market.

Yup, like I was saying through the torrent of 1st phone pic hysteria, Never EVER base opinions on phone pics. I claimed the head looked like an upright watermelon -- and that lens distortion of the head throws the entire likeness off kilter.

Anyway, looking pretty good. Since I'll be mostly using the mask, I'll be good with it. BUT yeah, the prisoner head sculpt is excellent when shown properly and that may well worth the repaint. Should get mine the first week of 19 and will certainly post pics.

As usual with BW, awful first pic panic....

Tyler taught us nothing. Sometimes I wonder if some agent of HT takes those pics and spreads them around as quickly as possible.....corporate espionage.

I want the gurney version but will have to wait to pick it up till later this year....Neo is coming.....Emperor just got here.....

Agreed with Robbie but as a painter myself I concur : the question cman asked is something I’ve also asked myself. Definitely not illegal you can get enamel paints in the US but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to work with them. To me they don’t mix can’t be watered down to layer and they leave a hard raised finish.

I use acrylic, enamel and lacquer paints. All have different tricks and ways to work with them. And within all those paints, there are varying quality of paints. Some better than others.

Great sculpts, but would have preferred a version with evil closed mouth smirk.

The open mouth one looks in a way silly, and the closed mouth one looks too friendly.

Good paint job will be the rescue.

Plain sculpt expression is ok, but the proto paint had that craziness on his face that the final is lacking to match this.

Loving this two figure set. Lost some intensity a long the way, however paint app is actually good, the details are definitely there if you’re not warm light cell phone pic‘ing it. Lol. Hands down, it’s Anthony Hopkins. Took some cell phone pics under the ****** warm light of my ceiling fan too, just like some folks on the internet like to do as well. [emoji91]

Gido the sculpts were always great and while we have some distortion in the final product of you were to completely strip and repaint them it’s undoubtable it’s not only the best Hannibal heads ever but one of the best sculpts I own (that goes for both heads).

I have a few more nice things to say about the figures but unfortunately the bad far outweighs the good. They are not the worst figures I’ve ever seen by any stretch of a mile, but they are far and above the worst blitzway figures put out yet.

As a little teaser we have Robbies mask on the right. And this... thing... that came with the blitzway on the left.

While we don’t expect the quality of robbies which is made out of the same fiberglass as the one in the film. Take a good hard look and tell me what’s wrong with this picture. Oh and if you think you’re going crazy take a look at the protype pictures of the mask again and a few film stills while you are at it.

How the hell could that have happened between what they showed in the prototype and what they put out is what I want to know...

They pulled a straight up bait and switch with the mask on tbjs from the prototype to the final product.. just shady if you ask me. These figures are a huge let down in basically every department but the sculpts.

Yup. Chili and I had wondered if they actually used Robbie’s mask in the prototype pictures , I don’t think so because the straps are different among other differences but it was just... well it was more or less correct.

This is simply one of the biggest head scratchers I’ve come across in this hobby yet. I actually can’t come up with a logical rationale on how something like this could happen.

How can you go from something accurate and then go and make a completely inaccurate version in the production sample. We are not taking about slight warping or production quality drop off here but a completely different design. And not even OMISSION of detail but they go and add MORE stuff like the 4th spoke. So it just makes no sense.

Anyways for the 5 of us old timers who are wondering my overall review will be geared towards us who have been on the quest for the perfect Hannibal for years..., yes Robbie’s masterpiece, both masks and the Dolly all work beautifully with the new figure. To this day I always have said that item is the most impressive custom 1/6 item I’ve ever seen or owned and I’ve never been more grateful to have it. Even a couple iminime items made the cut.
