at least it`s taller then the old ss version was. I still plan to use my old Hasbro emperor cane as it`s a little taller then the HT version

If you are worried and have some latex, you could remove the head, paint the hair with liquid latex and allow to dry. It will create a safety barrier and can be harmlessly peeled off any time you want it removed.
I have used latex as a barrier with several heads and there is never any problems removing it.

I ordered this with the PlayDay discount on ebay and got for cheaper than I could have anywhere else. The discount is only for toys, and figured I would give it a shot lol

You can see a stich on both sides of the hood. I took a hobby knife and simply cut the stich and removed it.

Kind of funny to picture the backstory of Palpatine acquiring that cane. Did he go to the cane store and simply pick the one most evil looking? Or did he commission a designer to deliberately make one all gnarly and menacing, lol.

I messaged Sideshow about this yesterday. Apparently the deluxe version is only being sent out in very small quantities in shipments every month or so. Hence the delay. I haven't gotten mine either.
