Do you know of any company that does fully solid casts? I don't.

You serious? Well, weta for one. I have all the district 9 statues and guns, I have all the king kong statues as well and those are completely solid. Why do pple make excuses for ss, they suck well now they suck, but back then they were great. Almost every statue I own is polystone and not plastic or hallow. So, Idk where you get your statues at. But justify spending 7 bills for a hallow statue is insane to me. I have a ss statues that are fully solid endo legendary IS Vader, Predator maquette first ss one. I can go on if you want. But I don't buy hallow pieces like some do but I am not knocking anyone that does. If a statue has a cheap feel to it I will send it back. But no disrespect to those that buy them to each their own. I just can not justify doing it. Anyways I do like the base on this IS yoda the base is sick but the price is also sick but more like sickening, lol later!

I really do like the base. And if I wasn't getting the Legendary scale, I may have considered getting this. As imo the base tells a story of the history of the character himself. And as a collector of Prime 1 pieces etc, I can appreciate larger than necessary bases, and honestly I'm okay with the price.

Exactly. Love the story the piece tells.

Yoda himself is small though after looking at it scaled with the Sideshow staff image.

But your looking at him and the environment base as a whole.

I hope you people know the head is going to be Pvc and hallow on the ss legendary Yoda. It weighs 15 pounds that is a dead give away right their! I am not saying the IS Yoda is better and their price is high as well as well as the paint app. However, I would take this over anything that comes out plastic or hallow. Then some say, do companies still make solid pieces. Are you kidding me. Almost every statue I own is solid and has weight to it. People justifying that is crazy, then backing hallow pieces is even more crazy. If it was like 100 bucks okay. I will back it too, but 700 your smoking crack! Just like yesterday I was walking on the beach here in Huntington Beach and a lady in the bathroom was yelling obscenities saying these pple shot me up with something call 911. So, I did. Then she goes off on how they are trying to rape her. While she is in the bathroom locked in by herself. I called 911 and the dispatcher already had a few phone calls. Whatever she was smoking was tripping her out. Anyways, I just don't see how anyone can drop 7 bills on something like that. Ss should be ashamed.

I think you're misunderstanding something about the hollow/solid discussion.

There are a lot of pieces which are 'partially' hollow in some places in a statue, but such statues can still weigh a tonne. And the only reason that any of us know that these statues previously thought as solid, are in fact partially hollow in certain locations is due to breakages in transit or being asked to smash a product for a full replacement. I know this has been show across Sideshow, Prime 1 and Iron Studios and probably many other manufacturers. I have no idea about Weta or any other manufacturer, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same for their larger scale pieces.

However I do agree, that I personally dislike when too much of a particular medium is used to lighten a statue up. Like manufacturers are now producing vinyl figures with Polystone bases. Could Sideshows Legendary scale Yoda be proven to be such a piece. Maybe. Given that the Sideshow page current says it's made out of 'resin'. Of which like many know is a catch all phrase to include many different types of 'resins', be it various forms of 'plastic', translucent resins, and Polystone which itself is a type of resin with a rocky sand medium added to the mix.

Yeah I've got Sideshows BB-8 and R2-D2, and I try not to think about how I felt when I picked them up.

As long as Yoda is comparatively heavier for its relative size, I'll 'eventually' accept it in my collection. And hey it's more realistic, given that it's based off of a puppet

Lol, that is the only hallow piece I have is r2d2 I forgot about that. I was furious with it, but kept it, idk why either. I hated all the new Disney Star Wars so those are no brainer's for me to pass on all Disney star wars pieces cuz I hated the movies. I think that is why I won't accept it anymore. Seeing a plastic r2 for 4 bills. I have a hasbro half scale that looks better and cost me nothing because my brother didn't want it. It is amazing how stuff gets sent to pple that is so bad. I know this Yoda is hallow. But if pple are happy then that is cool. But the problem is to me is that when pple accept it they keep doing it and that is exactly what is happening. I haven't bought a ss statue in a long time due to that reason. But anyways, I love Yoda but have a full size yoda and was cheap and great piece.

Anyhow.. I totally missed the start on this piece. I have been looking for the right Yoda to add to my collection. Picked this up, really digging all the switchouts. The water effect with the X-wing showing is awesome too! Couldn't pass this up, with using 100$ in SS rewards makes it not so bad!

Iron Studios and XM studios are really putting SS to shame. The attention to detail and extra effort they put into the statues really show.
I do love the detail in the piece, that base is outstanding.....

This is very nice piece.. only thing that bothers me a bit is the cloth.. real fabric would have been better IMO..

Not sure what other pieces besides Vader Iron Studios made so far, but do they contain fabric? Vader only has the capes made of textiles, everything else is solid, made of polystone.
