99.9 % of the world had no idea that the Vader suit was any different from
Film to film....

The .01% that does, if ever to comment on it when seeing a collection with an ANH Vader with Palps would be escorted out post haste...

Reminds me when MR FX lightsabers came out and those who had prop replicas of the hilts complained the FX saber was 15mm too long.

LOL. I was just contemplating selling my ANH V1 Vader to fund the ESB or eventual ROTJ Vader to make them match the movies I have planned for my displays. Then I thought I could just pick up the parts I need, gloves, chest box, etc. to change the display back and forth if I needed to. Kind of like an ultimate Vader kit.

I’m not well versed in the differences in the costumes but to me those are really the only ones that stand out. I would like a reveal helmet but not if every time I change the pose it falls apart.

Anyway, can’t wait for this and my two guards to arrive.

I think you'd be fine with any Vader with the Emperor (ANH, RO or ESB/ROTJ). Mine is like a hybrid with ESB/ROTJ body/parts but an ANH helmet haha.

I mean, at the time i am currently tight on money, i wish i could get the esb vader, but Hey knowing HT they might even release a ROTJ version with the working talkbox but who knows, thinking about it and call me crazy, but i think the anh vader version is the one on the last scene of the ROTS with a younger takin anf the emperor overlooking the death star, ill double check

The one at the end of ROTS is the ROTS Darth Vader. It is a whole other beast.
Probably the least favourite of SW fans.
Helmet is symetrical, lenses flat, chest box with no straps...very different from ANH or any other version.

It must be just about time for Pooh bear to be replaced on the HT Facebook page. A week is long enough.

I think the Emperor and guards should be a suitable replacement imo.

Haha I know I keep checking. I thought the Royal Guards would have been up by now.

As long as both figures come out looking good.

I'm still thinking this is their best headsculpt so far.. even beats Yondu.

We've come a long way since the "Ed Harris" days.

When people were writing this figure off before it was even announced.

Does it bother anyone else that HT may be adopting the position of no production photos before shipping?

RG may not see any photos until just before release , if any?

We need some Bothans in Asia to snoop around the assembly line or distribution centres for these figures. Show us some pictures!

Why would they suddenly do that ? Doesn't make any sense at all.

They want to advertise the fact that they are being made available, get people excited and sell some more for those who don't follow it so closely and didn't pre-order.

Dunno....but seems like with the RG and this they are a bit late on production pics for a September release....

Unless they September release is not a real date.

They are charging me this Friday for my guard, so I assume picks will go up that day. Same thing they did with Vader. Someone mentioned that SW doesn't sell as well in Asia, so that would explain the simultaneous release.

Well, I guess as long as the figure's good -- which it is generally -- it lessens the wait between blogger pics and actual in-hand photos from our US locals.

For example, there won't be a lot of time to whine that they didn't make any changes at all to Darth Maul's faces by the time you're billed.

Precisely, but imagine the chaos and backlash if they do not hit the mark.....

HT has missed in some releases, not like SSC, but its happened.

Its just weird....

Yeah, I think everyone in the US will like it ... so long as the figure comes out great. Vader being a question mark for the time being.

Some people always wait for the HK release to even order — I definitely did that with Boba. It’s nice to see what you’re getting.

Another possibility in all of this is that they’re trying to reverse the batches, so they can get more to Sideshow and the US upfront, but we’ll see how Vader and the guard play out since they’d be the first.

The weird part is the blogger photos come out when it releases over there. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to get to SSC after release. So are they making the bloggers hold onto their photos for 6 weeks?
