This HS is a flop of epic proportions

Each to their own man. Exclusive is where the money is at based on the fact that its sold out whereas the standard can still be snapped up.

I hear ya on that, it’s our opinion that we don’t like it. Other collectors love it and that’s great, I hope this figure comes out great. I can easily pass on this since I don’t have a 1/4 batman or at least TDK Batman that I’m not paying eBay prices for so it is what it is.

I'd like to see the final production sculpt first...but if it's the same as that proto...it will go down as one of the worst(if not The worst) head sculpts HT has ever released...

I hear ya on that, it’s our opinion that we don’t like it. Other collectors love it and that’s great, I hope this figure comes out great. I can easily pass on this since I don’t have a 1/4 batman or at least TDK Batman that I’m not paying eBay prices for so it is what it is.

Yes it is just my opinion and it's only being stated because it's 2018 and they have had six attempts at this guy. If you would have asked me what a Joker would have looked like now back in 2009 or whenever the Bank Robber was released - i couldn't even begin to imagine. I'm not saying these things to hurt anyone's feelings. It is what it is and perhaps some are too HT drunk to realize it which i can understand because i have been there a few times myself.

But they aren't going to improve if people keep accepting sub par or in this case - again after 10 years and six attempts - terrible HS.

Outside of the Batman cowl both 1/4 attempts are shockingly bad and not at all what i expected for the 10th anniversary of a line that greatly helped build HT into the company it is today.

IMO of coarse because i would have loved to have purchased both.

Why must they be?

They can only release so many figures at a time and I doubt they see this as a big priority. Probably just near the back of the production queue behind the infinity war and Star Wars stuff.

Well, they have not released much in August at all and my contact in HK was told he would be out
right after the 1/4 Batman Begins. So something is up… maybe not tweaks, but production issues?

Considering that the "transition" face was not on display anywhere with this guy, maybe that is the hold up?

Yeah it is disconcerting that the exclusive was not shown with the standard HS recently.

I think it's jumping to conclusions to assume there is something up with the alternate sculpt just because it wasn't shown at the recent cons.

Neither were any of the JL figures apart from Wonder Woman. Do they all have similar issues? Unlikely. Just reflective of Hot Toys half assed attitude to DC these days.

Yeah. Both sculpts aren’t that great.. in fact I still think enterbays “sculpts” were better. Maybe not “perfect” because that’s in the eye of the beholder but damn was I routing for enterbay!! And man the terminator sculpts were fantastic especially that BD Version...

I don’t think anything could beat hot Toys Angelica sculpt from pirates of the carribean.. that thing was terrible! Or hot toys first joker sculpt was no where near the accuracy haha

Worst 1/4 sculpt ever released. HT has their fair share of weak sculpts in the past, no need to be too dramatic.

While the headsculpt is not perfect, I do think some of you are overreacting. I think the thing that’s really silly to me is reading a lot of this “He doesn’t look like Heath!1!1” Er’ as the Joker, Heath didn’t look like Heath. Are you looking to own a Heath Ledger figure or his portrayal of the Joker? There is a difference. Personally, I think the headsculpt is really good and I look forward to owning it. Particularly the exclusive headsculpt because it’s really different from past releases.

Hot Toys did that. What if the figure had big lips and looked like Mick Jagger underneath the cowl? Even though Heath wore some serious makeup playing the Joker, you can still tell it's Heath. This is a nice looking Joker, but HT could have done much better IMO.

Now your statement doesn’t make any sense. For the fact that he did wear serious makeup. Several can easily say and have said that he did not look like himself. Where were you in 2008? lol. Anyway, the figure clearly looks like the Joker from TDK. Some are nit picky than others, lbr. At the same time this is all subjective. We can debate all day long whether or not the figure captured Heath’s Joker. Some will feel like it does look like his Joker, I happen to think it does.

I'd say at this stage they've knocked every Joker out of the park apart from Ledger. The Arkham Asylum Joker and DX08 being my two favourites.

Their Ledger sculpts aren't terrible, apart from the first one, but there is always something lacking.
