They're going to make a ton of these, not surprising BBTS still has them available.

Not sure if its the NRD that holds people back... or the sheer volume of $350-$400 Iron Man diecast figures that is being delivered and/or revealed for PO in a small window. What do we have: 5, 6, 2, 50 and now 7... all in a short period of time.

You forgot the IV with or without gantry;)

Sorry, not complaining, just commenting. No debate necessary - we all realize that we can't turn back time and undo HT's diecast decision. And I've bought or ordered the diecast Marks III, IV, V and VI, so the extra cost hasn't deterred me from upgrading those armors. But my decision to upgrade had little/nothing to do with the diecast material, so I was questioning the "reap the benefits of diecast" phrasing. Probably just an issue of semantics anyway. :lol

I think it's just a matter of many of us being here long enough to have seen this debate over and over. It's like there are 3 sides to the debate every single time. 1) diecast feels heavier and nice in hand so it's worth it, 2) diecast is irrelevant, but it's a way to get new figures with updated everything, 3) diecast is an excuse to charge more money and there are no benefits to diecast over plastic at all.

There are some shades of gray of course...

Point is, this comes up every time a diecast figure is revealed and I think some members are a little over the debate.

Diecast, plastic, whatever, these things are getting ridiculously expensive. But HT has no reason to re-think pricing if they continue to sell out.

Now we can go down the HT pricing vs SS tax avenue :lol

I agree with Wor-Gar, and it's not just the IM diecast figures. This could come due in the same time frame as WM Mk IV, plus if a few other figures get delayed (Dr. Strange & Gamora in my case), that's a big chunk of change all at once. Plus there are a few other releases (Shuri, Bucky, Vulture, etc.) that people may have higher on their priority list and are waiting to see their cost/timing...

$43 NRD scares away the ones who want to have it on PO but not sure they really want it.

And also for people that aren’t boycotting SS the rewards for this match the shipping now for most.

There may be some diecast on the inside. I’ve not tore one apart. But it’s a plastic figure not a diecast.

I've gutted a torso and a leg, there are a couple metal structural pieces

Torso, I don't remember specifically where it was mounted

Seems about right. A large amount of figures have that type of stuff, including human figures. Not a diecast figure though.

I really was suprised with the War Machine i tore apart. It's my heaviest 1/6 figure (not including HB) and i would have bet money there would have been more metal but i was honestly laughing at how little there was. Still a very well engineered figure as it was a pain in the butt to destroy.

Pre order window lasts 4-6 weeks for wholesale accounts, BBTS can submit a final order then, theres no rush. Worst case they just order what was pre ordered, usually they add a few extras to the final total, but it was never likely they were going to sell out week 1 as they can order almost whatever they wabt for up to six weeks

Favorite prototype photo. Love the battle damage.

Still debating whether to get the RE w/ free shipping or the SE along with Sideshow's $20-30 shipping. :ohbfrank:

Because you can't display it without a proper stand, a stand that HT has not yet bothered to create for these die cast figures. The prices these things are increasing and yet they choose not to provide us with what we need. If it had just been plastic that could have been avoided. Also without a tony to display with it what's the point of the pod? The pod should have been sold with a tony like the gantries, not with the mk7 itself.

I can't argue with that.

It’s the back corner of Starks Malibu basement. Where he swapped out the art in IM2
