I really like the new cowl, and I'm pretty disappointed that HT got it wrong for the new figure.

Again, HT has stated this is an unfinished prototype. The cowl and lower body are not yet finished.

Really? Where has that been said? I've been hearing rumblings that it's the final product.

And seeing as HT has already put up official pics of the figure, I'm dreading that it's a final piece.

Yeah, I've read nothing about HT saying it. Only people assuming it's not finished.

I remember reading it when the pics from Tokyo first surfaced. I'm pretty sure Hot Toys was quoted as saying this, but I could be mistaken.

In any event, the pics posted on HT's official site says "Product Shown Is Not Final. Pending Licensor Approval"

So it would seem wise to wait until the final product pics are posted before getting anxious about whether or not the cowl and leg armor is accurate.

^ Well that is a bit of relief, but usually when HT releases official pics of the figure (on their website too), it usually means that what we see is what we get, barring the usual differences in paint detail and skin texture.

I might just skip the HT TDK bats and pick up the Medicom one. But who knows, the release of the figures is a while off.

Not necessarily. Rocky IV came out with a much better paint job and sculpt, Rambo First Blood received a new sculpt, Rocky III has received a new sculpt, recently confirmed. With HT, you either get what you see or better, unfortunately you don't know which until shipping time, but it's still comforting, I can't think of any step back figures for them.

Did a little more snooping around, and it is starting to sound like what we see is what we'll get. Although...hasn't HT changed products before based on feedback?

Hopefully that will happen, but I can't imagine why Warner Bros allowed an inaccurate cowl???

Still, I'll grab one on pre-order. I can't bring myself to get a Medicom TDK Batman because I seem to have bad luck with Medis over time (they really are fragile).

I decided to stay with the original suit afterall.

I've been debating about ordering the original suit for weeks now. I'm sort of glad I didn't. I'm really liking the new costume (for the figure, anyway). And I still have my BB figure.

Just look at the mouth opening for the obvious difference.

From this pic we can see the top mouth line is pretty much straight and the rest seems to follow the same pattern.

The rest of the head seems perfect imo.

No, the HT cowl, as it stands now, is inaccurate based on those pics. The studio stills show a squared off mouth opening. The HT cowl flares out toward the sides of his face before curving back inward.

They both look pretty good. I will be getting the HT though. I think....

ATM there aren't many shots of the HT TDK figure, so I had to make do with the angle, but it should still give you the same idea.

What I'm trying to put across is that the Hot Toys TDK cowl is closer to the look of the BB cowl than the movie TDK appearance, which would then make it inaccurate.
