The ANH arm won't fit the R1 version,as the pegs/fittings are different...but you could switch them (the pegs) around. The other issue is that the R1 suit is tight fitting so in order to switch the arm you'll have to strip vader down..

Thanks for the info, I jumped on an ebay BIN in the mean time that looked like a good price. So I have one if I decide to go that route.

Still my favorite Vader.

Made some changes to my Vader. Replaced the inner robe and codpiece with the ANH Vader 2.0 versions. I like how the robes look over the armor, and the codpiece allows for better movement at the hips.

That's a really nice looking R1 Vader. Good thing you prefer the tunic/inner robes over the armor, because that combination is accurate in R1. :clap

Thanks! I indeed wanted the robes to be accurate to RO and ANH, but the stock robes don’t look as good over the armor as they do under. Been wanting the original ANH robes so I’m glad I was able to get one. [emoji106]

I cracked open the mask on this guy to add some silver foil...it was an easier job than the ANH version...less glue! And contrary to belief the lens are also an accurate amber brown rather than red...

Top pics are in ordinary daylight...bottom pics are comparison with ANH lens...which are a lighter amber color.. View attachment 402922

Looks great, everyone doing this on the ANH Vader thread has been making me want to do it. Glad to hear the RO helmet has some less glue.

Matrix, that looks awesome. I think I might attempt this myself. Any tips/recommended tutorials on achieving this?

The helmet comes off easy enough..with a little rocking from side to side. you'll hear the glue crack and off it pops..
Then using a wide flat tipped screwdriver prise the mask open working from the top (circled below)
If you're careful it should crack open easy...but there's no avoiding breaking the two lower pegs (circled in pic) that keep it together.
This doesn't matter as the other four pegs will hold the mask together fine..

To stop the tin foil from creasing place a piece of paper behind it...then push some tissue paper or sponge in behind that to hold it all together.
Put the mask back together and pop the helmet back on...no need for glue:)

Excellent trick and nice reference photo! Thanks Matrix!

Someone in the ANH Vader thread posted about using cotton balls and getting a similar effect. You can just shove them in through the top and not have to crack the mask open. I might try that if anything.

Where do you do you get this silver foil? Is it like Reynolds wrap?
