That final pose is fantastic. When I get mine, I'm stealing that pose.

Also, your fire alarm must need batteries cuz I could hear it beeping throughout the review.

Believe it or not, I actually mention this in my review and some past reviews. The idiots who owned the house before built the ceiling in the basement over two smoke detectors. No way to get to them unless I cut through the ceiling. Funk that. Lol. These things are immortal man. It’s been almost two years. Haha!

Smoke detectors are hard wired so they will continue to make noise. I had to unplugged one of mine due to the chirp from low battery and even with the batter out and unplugged it still kept chirping. Had to hold down the test button to drain it. Hate those damn things. Until they save my life haha

We put in new ones and placed them in accessible spots, but I don’t know wtf I’m going to do with those two others. At some point I’m going to just put a sledge hammer through the ceiling. Lol.

Haha! Might be the only option. Great video by the way the figure looks amazing! Always wanted star lord but never liked the 1st release always thought the likeness was off! Plus the body looked too big with the jacket on. Looking forward to getting this figure and my hulkbuster. But I might have to go after the GOTGv2 line at least all the main characters since rocket and yondu look great and gamora has less body revealing so hopefully no arm issues and maybe hot toys will resculpt drax for v2 for a thicker body or arms at least.

That's insane, man! I don't know how you live with that constant chirping, unless you unconsciously tuned them out.

I’ve got the first one but waiting for the second one next week.
I’m looking forward to put them on the shelf side to side with different styles and heads (2.0 head and 2.0 mask on the first one)

This is exactly what I will be doing with mine as well. Glad to be able to showcase both the mask and sculpt look at the same time.

Wasn't planning on picking this one up since i have the 1st but the HS looks great and this has lots of extras. I've had the mask on mine since i got it so i will be also using the HS on the second. Maybe toss the jet pack on Drax if it fits.

should have mine on monday...gotta figure out what to do with the first movie one now

hmmm

When I was a kid we had a huge problem with the plumbing in our second floor bathroom, and the only way to fix the problem without tearing the whole tub out of the wall was to go in from the ceiling on the first floor.

The problem is, after all was said and done we had a giant hole in the ceiling that would have cost hundreds if not a couple thousand to fix. Instead of paying all that, my parent's just bought a $20 air vent, covered up the back with a painted black piece of sheet metal, screwed the vent into the ceiling, and made the hole just look like a part of the ventilation system.

Not a perfect solution, but it looked perfectly natural and turned a very expensive repair into a dirt cheap one. Maybe it might work for you.

My only issue would be the font on that stand, it looks like "STAR LOAD"

Another option:

I learned a neat trick with drywall repair a few years back from an electrician who was installing potlights in our ceiling and mis-cut a hole (Actually, the hole was cut exactly where it should have been spacing-wise, but there was a pipe in the way of installing the potlight there).

If you've got a small-ish hole, and you don't want to go to the time/expense/effort of cutting back all the way to the next studs and replacing an entire large section of drywall, just get a new piece of drywall ( you can buy a 2x2 piece at any hardware store), cut it to fit the size of the hole (might be easier to cut back the hole to make it an easy-to-fit square), then use a piece of wood as a back-plate in the hole, screw it to the wood, and spackle the edges. Paint and you're done. I've done it a number of times, it always works.

Costs very little, and is pretty easy. Heck, you probably have that stuff lying around the house already, except maybe the drywall. Honestly the biggest pain in the butt is just re-painting the ceiling when you're done.

I don’t know, the sculpt still seems off to me. I think it’s something to do with the eyes. Maybe they’re too close together, too small, too sunken in, I’m not sure but something’s off. Still, it’s a really nice sculpt and from some angles it looks a lot like Chris Pratt.

Have you watched I Am Toys hi-res review ? Figure looks amazing IMO. Even better than HT pics.

The new sculpt looks great but side by side the biggest improvement is the box:lol. The first box gets a 2/10 and the second is a 9/10.
