Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Did they really not paint Freezes accessories and ask $175 for the set?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I am really beginning to hate the shoddiness of DCC.

Another paint error you can add the wrong paint on the Freeze gun, the lack of any on the snow globe and Ivy's wrist being green instead of grey - Freeze's back pack should be blue - not grey. So maybe they should have used the grey paint from that on the gun and Ivy and the correct blue on his tank.

They own these characters - do they not own reference material to work from? I am looking at you off model Clayface head...

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the Batcave set listed for October 25th on previews

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Welp, a kind soul ended up getting me the set as an early birthday present<3 :fest
Guess I don't need to hunt them down on ebay now lol. Anyone wanna buy a deluxe box?? :lol :rotfl :nana:

Shall give a brief review listing pros and (mainly) cons. Shall start with some obvious good, which is that Croc, Bane and Montoya look amazing. Freeze looks good, but I think his face could be a little better, as could the Shaq boots

As for Bane, I have no issue with him aside from his lack of range on the head. The way his neck is curved his head doesn't go back at all, so it's stuck in a very forward position. Not looking down bad, but it could definitely be better. Bane as well as the rest of the figs could really benefit from some ankle pivot though.

Croc's huge ugly ab crunch joint is virtually useless, as it only moves back the sliiiiightest bit, and not very much forward either. His forearms are sculpted kind of awkwardly. At first I thought he had two left forearms, but they're just shaped weird. Also the moles or whatever on his shoulders can hinder a bit of the forward and back movement. Other than that he's fine.

Montoya's movement at the elbow is very limited due to the creases in her uniform, and as someone mentioned before, she has one leg that's slightly longer than the other (classic DCC). Great looking fig though, one of my favs in the set.

Ivy I don't even need to jump too much into appearance, but on top of her crossbow being the wrong color, mine was quite bent up from the way she was packaged. The bow is very poorly made. Just a cheapy, pliable cross. She has the loosest joints of all the figs and her ankles are sort of curved inward, which could be a problem for posing if you're not using a stand. Because of that, she would have benefited most from a rocker. I will admit, she doesn't look AS terrible in hand, but of all the figs she has the most flaws.

And finally Mr. Freeze, my most anticipated since the line first began. Overall he looks pretty great, but his boots are wayyy too big. Luckily with my setup you can't really see them, so that works lol. Tank is the wrong color, blank accessories, and than we have the elbow joints. The swivel is fine, but there really isn't much bend due to the rubbery outside pieces, which do bend with the joint and crinkle together. Even with the big boots and lack of elbow bend he's still my favorite from the set. Though I'm bias when it comes to Victor ;)

The box is exactly what I expected. Complete **** lol. This was a terrible idea for those who aren't in box collectors (and those who are, being that you need to open it to activate the lights). You have to almost destroy the plastic parts the figures come in to get them out (as always in my experience), so I really can't see someone putting them back into the plastic bits to display them in that box again.

Overall I have mixed feelings about this set. It's great to have these characters, but there are far too many flaws to ignore and say this is a great set. Definitely too expensive and seemingly lazy in a lot of aspects. I'm stoked as hell too have Freeze though!! Glad I got it as a gift, as I can appreciate it a lot more than I would have lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

DCC will be unboxing The Batcave next month and it's another big box! I hope that backdrop is an indication that we will be getting it and not just a fancy marketing thing for the box. We'll see in about a month.

Gee - I hope the backdrop is included. Looking good from the box...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Is that backdrop really indicative of what's behind the Batcomputer on the show?

In the show the computer "move" around the cave different time xD I think it's impossible to do a correct BG

Why not cut the mullet, while you're at it?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Just got this set and it is ok. Not worth the asking price imo. Quality control is horrible on these as well. My Mr. freeze had very loose leg joints and there are other minor paint flaws on several of the figures. Anyone ever get a replacement from DC collectibles due to quality control issues?

I just got mine and I have to agree. Even at the discount I paid I can't help but feel a little underwhelmed. Croc and Montoya are fantastic and two of the line's best IMO, but Freeze and Ivy are both disappointing with their paint and articulation. Ivy's wrist even snapped off, and I haven't had anything break since TNBA Batman originally came out.

I have to admit though, the box IS pretty cool. Stupid and unnecessary, but cool nevertheless.

They used to replace figures for QC problems quite regularly, but they have apparently stopped.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Actually the paint for her skin tone is different too. The original was a lot more green, the GNO pack Ivy is a lot more white.

Please, do remind me, her skin is white in tnba, right?
