Lovely work on the straps for the Mirkwood quiver.

That production shot is interesting with the Lorien cloak but the Mirkwood bow and quiver.

I found a shot of Aragorn on Caradhras in his Strider gear but with the elven knife Celeborn gives him. I would love to know the reasoning behind some of the costume differences.

A quick warning to those who have purchased and will purchase the Luxury version. Not sure if it's been mentioned before but please be careful applying too much pressure when pressing the legs into the (Harder/resin) boots on top of the Troll head. The ankle peg doesn't 'pop' into the boot to let you know it's secured and In pressing too hard, a piece of the resin material (don't know what the boots are made of so I'll call it resin for now) crumbled away from the inside and so I now have a hole in the ankle. As the boot is glued to the Troll's head, it's not exactly something that can be replaced without breaking the boot away from the peg within the head so take care and just apply the smallest amount of pressure when plugging Legolas into those boots.

Ouch that sucks man! Luckily when I pushed my legs into the boots I was too scared to push too hard even though I thought it would look better pushed in more. I just pushed in far enough so that the pants didnt stick out from the top of the boots.

This is one of the few times that I am glad I didn't go for the exclusive. It is cool but I just wasn't sure how well a disembodied head stand would fit in with the rest of the pieces on display when they all had ground bases.

I didn't know that the boots would be glued to the top of the cave troll's head. I thought I could display the cave troll alone, if I wanted to. That was not a good design option. So when not displaying Legolas on the troll head, the troll with the glued boots on his head will stay in the box. What a waste of a potential display.
:gah:

Man those pics and that base are wonderful. Great idea. I'm going to regret getting the troll head.
Thanks. I knew from the start I wanted to do something more like this with Legolas. The troll head, while a cool idea, was undersized and I just didn't care for it.

Dang, those are some awesome group shots! Loving the custom bases for each one.

I got Leggy yesterday. Never bought an Asmus figure before, though I have Boromir and Aragorn slim on order.

My thoughts:

- The clothing is phenomenal. No idea how they got the fabric so thin. Definitely some of the best tailoring I've seen.
- Love the paint on the face as well. Hot Toys-worthy for sure.
- The sculpt on the accessories look ok, but the paint is a bit sub-par. The ends of the arrows are especially meh.
- The bow's string is awesome. Works very well.
- Not loving the seam where the headsculpt meets the neck, but it's not a deal-breaker.
- The Leaf of Lorien pointing down is a big no-no for me. I tried to bend the metal clip it had to go more sideways, and it snapped off in my hand!? WTH? What is it, pot metal? Very cheap. I superglued it back on correctly, but that was disappointing.
- The hair isn't as bad as everyone's making it out to be. I wouldn't have painted it that color, but it's not bad enough (for me) to repaint it.
- Ankle articulation with those boots are awesome.
- Agree with the bow harness being way too high, needs to be modded. Also, not loving the rubber quiver. And the slot in the cape doesn't work too well.

I think that's about it. Overall, I'm happy with it - I'd give it around a 7/10. Not as good as I'd hoped, but not as bad as I feared. Looking forward to Aragorn for sure.

Thanks man. I plan to have a diorama base for each of the Fellowship. I'm really hoping Gimli comes with Balins Tomb. Or some sort of base.

Has anyone repainted his hair? Curious to know what you used.... I'd rather not paint it myself, though. My hands seem to think they're 90 years old. Or on meth. Super unsteady. :rotfl
