I'm really really debating this one. I loved his look in Civil War and I haven't gotten an Iron Man figure since the original Mark III back from 2008. I wasn't sure if I should wait for the inevitable IW version or just stick with this. Thoughts?

I'm kind of in the same boat, I hemmed and hawed over this one for a while, even ordered it at one point from Sideshow but then cancelled (and lost the deposit in the process haha), and just the other day I pre-ordered the Homecoming armor on BBTS but cancelled later that day (I'm not the best at making decisions apparently :)). But I'm pretty sure I'm going to come back and order this one for good. The only 2 armors I have are the Mark 1 2.0 version and the Mark IV. Love the bruised RDJ head, and this armor looks great. I'll probably end up getting this and the IW version as well, that one won't take as much debate.

Tough to say at this point since the Mk48 hasn't been fully revealed yet. That may very well come with a diorama base, headsculpt, battle-damaged accessories, etc.

So all things equal, it'd have to come down to your preference.

The Mk46 may not wait around at retail for you though. So given that, I'll just say from personally owning the Mk46, it would make for a fantastic addition since it is the complete package.

I'm actually really happy with the 46. I have the diecast Mark 6 on pre-order for an amazing classic look, but the proportions and feel on the 46 beat out the two prior releases I used to own -- the 7 and the 4.

If I was forced to choose I'd go with the 6, but will likely pose this one with the Stark sculpt and the other one helmeted.

i know if they had sent me a 50$ off coupon as some got i would have purchased already w/o hesitation.:rotfl its the price im wrestling with.

still im plottin and i realize the clock is ticking.....

I brought this because it's a great contrast to the m42. I think the m42 is a great figure, in fact it's one of my favourites. Due to space restrictions I plan to get one more IM figure from the next movie/s

Watched Civil War for the first time in a while last night and man I love this suit. However, I was reminded about how it looked on screen and one of the reasons it's my favorite MCU armor is because of the color. I wish HT would have nailed that aspect of it.

Before people get on me about "whining", the DC 46 is already my favorite 1/6 Iron Man. It's an amazing figure ... but maybe they'll get the color right on a potential 1/4 scale one.

Yeah HT does seem to have a problem matching the colors with what the armors looked like on screen, and always want to brighten and redden them up for some reason (not to mention make them way glossier than they should be).

Although in this case I can live with it, as the paint job on the figure just looks so damn gorgeous in hand and I think actually improves on how the armor looked in the movie, where it seemed a bit too washed out and overly CG and not quite as impressive.

Get Mark VI

As far as the hue goes, the cgi is wrong to what it looks like in real life...at least in that scene. The red has less blue in the bunker scene.

One of my biggest turn off for XLVI was that HT essentially used that same (if not very similar) red and gold as they did for XLV. While it worked for XLV as it was completely CGI, the practical parts of XLVI made the color and gloss different and HT didn't really take note of that.

I was scrolling back and I think I'm almost definitely going to get this: between this and Doctor Strange, which one I order first is the real question.

I'm seeing on some of the pics a BD chest piece. Is that included in this? It's not on the list

how in the hell do you take the neck off? I've tried for like an hour, even tried with a hair dryer to no success.
"Its stuck in there like an alabama tick!"

Even with the hairdryer?! I know how you feel I used pliers and they only worked a bit to where it was enough to tug off with hands. Yeah it caused me to scratch it sadly and was not fun. This figure is not a fun figure in terms of switching stuff out and turning stuff on. Not fun at all!

I push the neck as far forward as possible, the put the lever of a nail clipper (or anything flat and metal) in the back and push up and it pops out.

Push forward on the top rear of the neck peg, works easy for me.

tried it but no go. Put alot of force into it but wont even budge..afraid to go any further , the peg might break off. Im trying to pull on the neck from side to side, you can hear the plastic creaking but thats about it. All I can think of is using a vice which I dont have..

Oh I know, took a while just to get the batteries in, and now I might take em out after hearing its not good to keep them in there for long periods. The lower torso was also a pain to unhook, eventually came loose after all the force I was using to hold on to the torso while trying to remove the neck lol.

thanks ryan! you lifesaver! that did the trick!! :clap :clap
It snapped off and flew about 3ft in the air lol

turns out there was this sticky glue on the neck peg thats holding the neck in place. I rubbed it off, hopefully should be easier now.
