It was always a good likeness much like the Alec Guinness... but now they are just almost cartoony sculpts.. the 1/6 figures have moved to far along for them to look right even with a quality repaint.

Looks pretty life-like to me mate; not getting that "cartoony" vibe at all...
 
Mark Simpson did a great job with him.

It does look great. Raymond's right in observing the lack of finer detail in older sculpts though. Wasn't Obi Wan a Trevor Grove sculpt? His talent for picking out a likeness hasn't changed much if at all, but his older vs recent sculpts are night and day.
 
I agree with Raymond, the repaint does look awesome but looks like a drawing or a painting. the old ss LOTR figures were good for their time but the asmus figures (while not perfect) are superior

Third here.You can repaint 'em but they're just old generations sculpt in terms of details and definition.
