Here's my 1/4 from Creg and Jacob.

I'll be picking up the HT version for sure. View attachment 354314View attachment 354315View attachment 354316

Creg's are good but he sculpts digitally using screen references from the movie, which is why your Joker looks quite accurate to Ledger. Congrats on getting that piece BTW Jacob did an amazing job!

I'm sure with some paint tweaks the HT will be awesome.

Needs more than paint apps, the sculpt is just so off, only thing they got right was the jaw shape. I am really sure this is one actor they just can't sculpt, and the fact of the matter is most can't, which is why people pay thousands for Adam's head sculpts.

regardless how anyone feels about the sculpt. From just an overall quality stand point, I think the HT will be better. Probably won't have the sticky paint issue that EB's had or the 'one leg longer than the other' and it will probably be easier to swap out the hands

Now that's true, and yes the the quality will be much better than EBs.

I always find it kind of ironic how people call out those who spend ****tons of money on custom heads for figures, yet, when people argue in favor of greater accuracy for a figure that's, probably, going to be $500, at least, they're like "meh. Close enough. Shut up." Do I expect **** to be perfect? No. Will **** ever be perfect? No, but if there are things that they could do to improve the figure prior to its release, why the hell shouldn't they, and why the hell shouldn't people advocate in favor of them making those changes? It worked for the QS Batman, and yet, still the debate over constructive criticism persists, as if it accomplishes nothing and people should just be grateful for any figure at all.

I really want a 1/4 Joker to go with my Batman. I agree that this one isn't quite there. It's good but not amazing. I hope they tweak the sculpt and maybe even give us a second expression.

I don't think this is as bad as some are making out but I can understand the disappointment for those that had the EB version or the DX11. I missed all the Ledger figures so there's a good chance I'll pick this up. Fully expect it to improve a lot between now and it's eventual release. If the final sculpt is as underwhelming as this prototype I'll just make do for a while and hope to pick up a better custom later on...not one of the $6k ones of course. :lol

Some people are just like "I like this figure, shut your mouth and quit criticizing coz I'm buying. Wait a sec, I'll go over other threads to bash them crappy designs and figures based on them, which is like 95% of what's on Sideshowfreaks. That's right, I can bash yours but you can't bash mine, because what I like is what's good and the only thing that's good, and it's good because I said so."

Do either of you own the Enterbay Joker? It has flaws yes, but all these Photoshop resizing heads ******** is so stupid unless you have something in hand. The Enterbay Joker sculpt in my opinion and I would say most that actually OWN the figure will agree it is the best mass produced Joker Ledger head. It is far from perfect and the jawline is what knocks it most but this HT is missing the soul of the Ledger Joker.

The clothing on the Enterbay Joker is also not bad and at least they got the colors right for the outfit. I am a huge HT fan but got to call balls and strikes fair here, and so far what they have shown is a clear inferior product to Enterbay Joker. That may change in the future but to apologize for this lack of execution is laughable given the number of Jokers they already have released.

:goodpost::exactly:

I think the main problem is that it doesn't feel like the Joker. Yes, they might have tried their best to sculpt Heath with the scars, so unpainted it does look like him. However, there is more to a good sculpt especially with this character. It can't only just look like the actor, in this case, it needs to look like the actor "PLAYING" the character. There are so many expressions and nuances in the performance. If any of us do an impression of this Joker(besides the voice), the first thing I think of are the pouting mouth and him licking his lips. That's what makes the DX11 expression superior to this. The Bank Robber Joker and EB one gives us that killer expression where his eyes are kinda lifeless but seems like he is thinking of a way to kill you, just like his character.

This 1/4 HT sculpt looks a little too handsome for the Joker, he doesn't have that slimy creepy presence even though underneath the paint it does look like Ledger. It's not good enough. So I can see where some people see the actor under the sculpt, but most of us don't see the Joker.

U mean this one?

And to think EB came much closer on their first attempt. :lol

Yeah he is quite smart in that way.

That's because Kato was not involved in doing the tailoring.

Even if they tweak it, I highly doubt they will get it to a good likeness level.

U really think so?

View attachment 354300

Yeah but even MJ Chois looked like Ledger unpainted.

View attachment 354313

And that sculpt sucks.

Ironically, your photoshop shows what is so off about this HT sculpt. The brow shape is wrong as it's angled, when it should be arched, the nose just looks deformed, the lips don't even look accurate and eyes are too small. The only thing that looks accurate is the jaw shape.

A good laugh really? Then how do you explain the facial accuracy to Primes?

Look at this composition I did with Primes.

View attachment 354306

Everything lines up except the eyes are smaller and brow shape is off. Also the bottom lip protrudes on Primes.

The facial likeness on EBs is good, the problem with it is the head shape, its too long and narrow. Here a resculpt where the chin has been reduced and the face has been widen.

View attachment 354308

Honestly after all their failed attempts why would u think that?

U keep telling yourself that, I can destroy this HT sculpt in a matter of seconds and explain why EBs likeness is way better.

Well his photoshops are of this HT sculpt, not the EB Joker, so making a statement like he did then posting pics of the HT sculpt photoshopped with the screen shot make absolutely no sense.

No it's the head shape and paint job that knocks it the most, the jawline is actually accurate, but because the head is elongated with a long chin, it looks off.

IDK man I actually find it rather poor quality. In fact I find the entire figure is of poor quality, it's just that the facial likeness on the sculpt is good.

It sure is.

Yeah especially when his photoshop showed what was off with the HT sculpt.
your comparison is pathetic you showed nothing but custom headsculpts for enterbay and then you compare it to adam gu prime one sculpt lol what a joke. get the stock image of the enterbay and put it right next to the picture of heath like i did and you will see the difference. Also it wasnt photoshopped i literally placed the photos on a phone app and aligned them ...smh.

Yeah, that one. I think it might be the hair shape that reminds me of it.

Think its more than that, I would say the MJ sculpt and this sculpt are quite similar.

A repaint is not a custom sculpt.

This is a repaint.

I will grant you it will look worse because the stock paint style on the EB Joker so bad that it hides the facial likeness of Ledger, and I even mentioned that was one of the problems with the EB sculpt. You clearly missed the point of my post, I used the custom sculpt to show what was WRONG with the EB sculpt, but I guess your too ignorant to see that. I also used the repaint to show how good the facial likeness (not the entire sculpt likeness ) is on the EB sculpt.

Also it wasnt photoshopped i literally placed the photos on a phone app and aligned them ...smh.

Whatever man, despite what method u used, U still showed how off this HT sculpt is.

Enterbay Joker does have a better likeness. This is mine. I am sure theyll improve the sculpt before release though.

My main complaint with the sculpt is the lack of expression. Wonder why they didn't maybe for a laughing sculpt similar to the alternate DX11 head.
