I do think there is a unwillingness to stand up for what we believe is right and wrong. I think we second guess ourselves as a nation too much and don't establish virtues as a nation.

Thank God the current society wasn't around in 1942. We may have done nothing to fight back or once Japan was taken out let Europe take care of the Germans on their own.

Thank God for them, really... for filling the pockets of their rich friends with more gold.

God Bless W. :flag :monkey2

Thanks for schooling me bro...

Ok, so maybe I had a few facts wrong. Sue me. I still think it was wrong and we used our recent attacks as ratification to take out Saddam and gain a foothold in the Middle East.

And I was in VF-154 on the USS Kitty Hawk. You want to know my ^^^^ing social why you are at it? You want my list of scars? How many tumors I developed due to exposure to chemicals and non FDA approved Vaccines? Do you want to know what mental damage my tour over there did to me? How many times I wanted to die? Where is your line of questioning going?

I served, I did my time. You don't know what kind of pain I endured or what Hell I went through...

DA - I don't think hoodonit wants to give you a colonoscopy or is looking for your personal info. He stated a series of facts, that's all. Don't take it as a personal attack on your integrity or questioning your service record.

Everybody, regardless of what your opinion is of the war/Pres. Bush, should try to shut out the rhetoric of the politicians and the media and analyze the facts and think for themselves. Don't just regurgitate the same old tired mantras because you find yourself agreeing with them. Everyone needs to keep an open mind and be willing to admit when they're wrong because there is plenty of mis-information on both sides of the aisle.

Could you picture him at the podium saying:

"The board is set...........thee a pieces are moving....."

Yeah, they are soooo noble.

All I know is that I believed in this country enough to go blindly into action and do my duty. What did I get for it? I got skin cancer and was denied help for it, even though they misdiagnosed me and let it ride until my contract was over. They used me to get the job done and let me hang in the wind.

We need a change, we need leaders we can believe in.

I agree. And unfortunately, I don't believe in ANY of them.

I understand what you mean in that last paragraph... there IS a lot of misinformation out there... Lies are everywhere on this subject.

As for the first part, I don't know what to think. He did question me and where I served... what unit and so forth. That IS questioning my integrity a bit. I don't think that matters in the least bit, my opinions are my opinions... It has nothing to do with what unit I was attached to or what I did.

Sorry if I am a bit touchy on it, just had a bad few days and didn't need to have a finger poked in my direction this morning.

Well said DA :clap

I agree. I think he was insinuating that Josh was full of ^^^^.

It doesn't matter who is up for office... Jesus Christ HIMSELF could come down and run for President... He would be slandered and his past poked holes into... until he looked like a fool. And the sad thing is, in today's environment... he would lose.

I'm just trying to get a rundown on what kind of guy you are. I'm not a vet, never implied I was one. You just seem to view things a little different than other vets post I read.

The debate over the right and wrong of invading Iraq is a matter of history to decide at this point.
The facts show that the evidence at the time indicated Saddam had a threat of WMDs. Everyone stated it. Even Ted Kennedy argued that we shouldn't send troops in because Saddam would use chemical weapons on them.
Whatever your opinion of Bush or the war, we should at least be intellectually honest and stop the "Bush Lied" slogan. He, along with most of congress may have been wrong, but thats not a lie.

Could be. I don't know. But in his defense, it is the internet. Honestly, how do you know anything about anybody for certain? And DA - I'm not saying I don't believe you. I have no reason to doubt you, so I believe you're telling the truth.

I never thought you were a vet, you might have been a little more understanding had you been. Everyone has an opinion, all vets are not the same. Some bought into the propaganda a bit more than others, some believed everything they heard... some... made decisions based on the whole of the information as well as their actual feelings on the matter.

I just know what I saw, what I felt and what I have learned since that point. It was a scam. We were had, and the best part is... we let it happen. :banghead
