I'll put my two cents in on this piece for whatever it's worth.

I fell in love with it when I saw what Iron Studios was doing. I had noticed Iron Studios when I saw their original Avengers Diorama. When Iron Man came out there were alot of complaints to the QA/QC aspect. However Iron Studios showed tremendous ambition at a time when things were somewhat stagnant in the statue game. XM was new to the game as well. What Iron Studios was struggling with was the larger statues but some of their smaller stuff was damn near flawless *ie Magneto*. So when this Spidey was first teased it was revolutionary. I bought in and patiently waited once Sideshow got the rights.

The concept was brilliant. It was beautiful and it had the potential to blow the doors of any Spider-Man piece and, to be be honest, any 1/4th piece statue I had ever seen. It was a diorama of sorts. Of course, many people had their opinion on the pose, the fact it looked "too busy". Some said Spidey had metal killing his balls which was an epic fail. Arm Chair comments at best and investors of the new Sideshow Spidey and old Sideshow Spideys scared of their status would lose stock at worst. Again, I'm stating my own opinion, albeit an honest look at a time when statues were more of an investment being lost.

When the statue came, I was excited. While putting it together very carefully and slowly, pieces didn't fit. When they did fit, the pieces snapped. Mainly the secondary pieces around the base. The seams on the Spidey itself were shotty if you looked at them closely. Despite that, as an entire piece. It was phenomenal. However, the customer service on the replacement parts like the staircase were non existent. And the one critique of a statue is that if you pay the high price you should receive the same amount of excellent QA/QC XM brings to their pieces. So, ultimately I realized the piece would not be fixed unless reimbursed. I had a difficult decision ahead of me. I either needed to live with what I had or destroy the piece. Had they been able to provide me a proper staircase, Oscorp sign and goblin bombs that were like paper... I would have been OK with the seams. But as it stood, despite the fact I dont buy statues to invest in them, if an emergency happens and I need to sell something I at least want to have something I can sell that is intact and just like I bought it.

Ultimately Sideshow somewhow made an EX Spidey PFF available to me within the same time they stopped distributing the Iron Studios Spidey so I smashed it and got my reimbursement. It was a sad moment for me.

If they have made this statue with more durable accurate pieces that do not break or snap on a whim then it is worth it if you are a Spidey fan. It is beautiful, it pushes the bar, and it is a talking piece in a collection among numerous collectibles. I feel like I bought a Note 7 or a first generation video console that burned up because I didnt wait for the second generation. Which kind of sucks but it is what it is.

I think Iron Studios has a ton of potential.

Seriously great Post! This was my most anticipated statue last year and it truly failed me for those very reasons. I just will not defend it for those faults. Overall not what I expected from a QC standpoint.

I loved everything about the pose the base even looked fantastic. But something like parts snapping off scares me away, I wasn't prepared to take the risk of receiving a broken statue. I can't really blame Sideshow neither it was Iron Studios fault. If I was truly willing to get this I would have but Sideshow saved me from cancelling my order period.

But for those that got a flawless one seriously congrats because it truly looks awesome. I love the fact that Iron Studios churned out flawless sculpts straight after. Getting Falcon made up for Spidey in a big way. I can see that company getting better each year!

This is what (theoretically) we've been seeing. Is the new batch hitting wait list reservations. I've had my reservation for almost a year now which was converted last week.

So I got the piece, only thing broken was the top stairs. Everything else is fine. A pain to put together, but this thing is heavy. The main piece (corner of building) feels like metal. The only plastic are the stairs railing, the metal of the stairs is polystone as you can see that broke.

I am glad you got a good one! I will not deny it was a sad day canceling my WL conversion. It was so hard to do with the Groot EX converting ... and knowing I have to jump on a Venom piece very soon. Trying to select either Prime 1 or SS has been a difficult decision :slap

Yeah I was really torn with the choices and I had some nice people on this forum offer to sell me certain variants. However, this is the one I've wanted since day 1.

As for Venom, I'd love the XM then the Prime1 personally. I don't like the skin texture on the Sideshow one. I grew up with McFarlane's Venom. I think the only one close to this is XM's?

Any pictures of spidey in all sides, BoosterX?

Your pics show a flawless piece. Really happy for you mate. Congrats! I do regret not getting the second batch at least. Best Spidey design. Just please don't try moving it about

Mine came on Friday. Haven't had time to open it up yet. Box is huge, much bigger then i expected. Really hope i got a good one because from the pictures i've seen i'm really excited for it and hope it's perfect. Hopefully get it set up this week.

I bought mine a few months ago and the statue is pretty massive. I know it's 1/4 scale but it appears bigger to me anyway. I love it!

My stairs are a little wonky looking. The rails have a slight bend to them since their plastic but overall this is the best Spider-Man statue I've ever seen to me.

Just be careful how much you fool with the stairs because they are actually not totally plastic. The surface of the steps are, but other pieces and the railing are resin. and will snap.

Got this beginning of the month and just got around to setting it up. First thing i'll say is it looks amazing once it was all set up. It's also a lot bigger then i thought it was going to be. But it feels very very cheap to me. Nothing like a $750 statue should be like in my opinion. Almost every part is plastic like and feels like it will break at the slightest touch. A few pieces didn't fit together easily and were a pain to get together since i felt like every piece would snap if I moved it too much. I somehow got it all together without breaking anything and i got it in the place i want it.
I really do love the look of it and how dynamic it is with Spiderman breaking though the glass and it does look really great. But i'm not sure i would buy another statue at this price point from Iron Studios with the way this one feels to me.

I have the piece myself and personally love. I agree the stairs can be a little delicate and should have been resin but most of the statue is very solid and doc octopus arms are heavy! I own other iron studios pieces such as magneto vs sentinel which I would recommend. No plastic on that one. Superman and doomsday has a few plastic pieces on the base to make it look more dynamic but that's it. I currently have the iron studios batman vs bane on pre order from sideshow. Can't wait

As well the 1/4 MCU Civil War line which are great. I would even say that the Falcon and Winter Soldier are near perfect pieces. And I'm pretty sure the same will be true regarding Cap when he releases.
