Best use I've ever seen for this figure:

I had posted about getting Angelica in the Jack thread but further talk should go here I suppose :slap

The ankle joint on my figure was broken straight out of the box. I have also noticed that the loop that holds the earring is rusting. Or is that suppose to be there for weathering?

Well here's a figure I never thought I would get. I realized I really like the outfit and wanted to give it go, glad I did.

I think she actually looks fairly pretty with the right conditions/futzing.

I loved the pirate costumes of Penelope Cruz aka Angelica. The white blouse which she is wearing in the movie looks pretty and classy. I would love to have it and may be next time I will get this dress as halloween costume (not only the blouse but full costume from top to the bottom).

It actually is one of Hot Toy's finest as far as costuming is concerned. They did a spectacular job on it. I got it for free last christmas so that may make me biased on how much I like this figure haha.

I felt it was time to take some proper photos of Angelica since I never did before. Background music during the shoot was none other than the original POTC soundtrack of course.

She has new ankle pegs and I had to swap her hoop earring too because of what appeared to be rust. A necklace link from the craft section was the same gauge and diameter :yess: What a fantastic figure she is, and only in person can you truly appreciate the details.

Hey, long time lurker but first time poster here. It's been lovely keeping up with this community.

I recently purchased a 'MIB' Angelica, the shipper was not sealed but claimed never displayed or removed from the packaging. The packaging was not so mint as he said it's been displayed on a store shelf, but it is faded and scratched in spots. But perhaps I can get over that.

Angelica herself can barely stand. Her knees are the loosest on any hot toys I've ever encountered. Now before I go accusing anyone of lying to me, I'm curious is that possible on a 'never used' figure? Most of the things I've read about loose joints say they happen from being displayed. So I'm curious as to that.

Any help would be appreciated, I just want to be sure I didn't get ripped off here and start the process in time if it's necessary. Thank you!

Anything is possible...weird factory defect perhaps...I can only speak to my experience though and I have yet to have a BNIB figure shipped to me with loose joints...could be an honest factory defect...but I would be skeptical.

Entirely possible.

My ANH Han Solo has an extremely wobbly waist joint, but he is still able to bend and move in all the places he's supposed to so it doesn't bother me. Got it MISB straight from SSC. Some other figures I've gotten right out of the box have had the same issue, albeit to a lesser degree. If you return it for another MISB figure, there's no guarantee that the new figure won't suffer from the same issue, or possibly something worse. If it's something I can live with and everything else about the figure is fine, I take it and run, so to speak.

keep an eye on the pleather boots, i had 2 of these both brand new & the boots began to flake & rot as some came with an annoying crease down the front of each boot so the pleather peeled off very easy.

I only own the Hot Toys Avengers Loki. But just by owning that one figure, I know that loose joints are unfortunately not rare on these figures... My Loki's knee and ankle joints are WAY looser than what you'd expect for a retail $220 (now up to $400 - $500 + on the aftermarket) figure. I'm lucky that he can even stand up on the base. :horror :lol

Hey, thanks guys! (All of ya!) This is why I've always loved this community, I'm not a general lurker, just this place <3

Well the general consensus seems to be that it happens and if I can live with it to stick with it. And I'd say it's not too bad overall and she is completely fine other than that one issue.

Mine does have the crease in the boots as well so I'll keep an eye out for that and be gentle (leave her in the box forever! Lol) thanks for the tip

Yeah it's just the crazy prices make you expect perfection... And when you don't get it it feels BAD.

Thanks again and I'll enjoy her for what she is. I'll also get another shot at jack sparrow next year with the dx15 so I'm happy.

Actually I think leaving it in the box and never taking it out may have more adverse effects than taking it out and displaying it.

Oh really? Why's that if you don't mind me asking? Does it degrade being in the box? Although I was joking of course, why wouldn't I want to display this lovely figure!
