So many posts about the mod I forget what the original fig looks like now lol. Actually, my WL converted so Cap will be on his way eventually. I don't plan to mod anything for now.

I personally wouldn't, as I agree with what GaryPool said in that it leaves his upper torso a bit too large and disproportionate with his lower torso.

I don't see what you're talking about? Then again it's tough because you probably have your Cap stock. Either way, I'm not looking to start a debate. It's all about what the individual prefers. To each his own.

I think his upper body is way too bulky on the stock figure. But I don't want to mess with mine.

It's not a debate if people are just discussing; there's nothing with that.

Just for me, the steep incline from the bulk of his chest to his waistline when the foam is removed makes it look like he's from two seperate bodies, I think a halfway line between the stock and the mod would be ideal - but I definitely don't think adding padding to his arms and shoulders and removing it from his waist makes him look right, as he is then too top-heavy.

But like you said, if someone prefers it that way it's their choice and I don't think anyone here is berating them for that choice, just giving their opinion on the mods - which shouldn't be mistaken for trying to dictate what someone else does.

True. Like, there were folks that didn't like the curl in WS Black Widow hair and did something about it. Didn't bother me. But some of her sculpt paint jobs I've seen do.

Am looking at my WS Cap right now and I can see his chest is flattened *shrug*. Love that fig and my CW Cap too, unmodded. I put my WS Steve Rogers into his new highway fight civvie togs, ripped the *cheap* mid torso padding. (Someone carefully sewed velcro onto cheap styro OMG). The new T-shirt is thick enough it may not need the *smoothing* you get from that cheap padding - but the original white T did need something in there to smooth the edges IMO, the material is too thin. If I get a really pale (to me) CW Bucky am pulling out the paint brushes.

It's just what may or may not bother you, and if you are going to mod it - or can mod it - and hopefully it's a successful mod. Hope I can get some more KO figures to get more confidence about doing mods.

Well, I can certainly see what GaryPool is talking about. I like the shoulders of the modded Cap but I personally wouldn’t remove the torso padding. I kinda feel the waist is a bit too thin but to each his own. :)

Nor was I.

I was merely agreeing with GP's opinion that removing the padding of the lower torso leaves it looking a bit disproportionate, to me personally. Never stated there was a right or wrong way to display him; it's all about what the individual perfers as you said.

Personally I like the slimmer waist. I think the upper torso is definitely too big, but the lower torso is also too big on the stock figure and almost makes him look pudgy. Slimming the waist doesn't fix the upper torso but I like the accentuated tapering as opposed to the way it looks stock, where it almost goes straight down.

I'm all for a tapered "V" shape, but I think removing the padding around the lower torso emphasizes it a bit too much.
