Actually, someone started a petition as soon as the prototype pics hit. They didn't listen then so . . .

Re: 1/6 SSC Beetlejuice figure

Such a shame. All it took was an eyebrow change to be more of a frown and the expression would be a lot more digestable.

Holy moly, what a sloppy BJ!! :thud: and for $260? yikes.

So the sculpt was not a surprise (even he seems to be shocked how he turned out) but the tailoring looks poor and paint looks poor as well not matching between hands and face and neck. Give him a floppy body and you've got a Run Home figure.
"I'm the ghost with the mo... aw, who am I kiddin'?" :monkey2

I can't say at all I would purchase this ever. Not even for $20 with Free Shipping. I don't want to disrespect my other 1/6 figures. :rotfl

Re: 1/6 SSC Beetlejuice figure

I'm not defending this thing but those aren't the best pictures either. Sideshow makes figures at the 150.00-180.00 point but they just don't realize it.

I know those aren't the most flattering pictures. A little futzing could make this figure look half way decent. However, when you start asking at the higher end of market price be prepared to take some criticism. I know manufacturing cost only go up, but don't let that be the excuse for the higher price and then deliver a subpar figure. Better pictures will show up, but some of the issues in those initial pics can't be fixed with just futzing.

I didn't pre-order this, but thought I might after seeing some in hand pics...... in case the costume was worth it. I've been holding onto a Caine custom head for awhile. I'll be selling that now!

I remember when sideshow figures were around £40-£60 and they were still better than this.

The sad thing is so many of us love the film and wanted better what we got was this. 😔

The sculptor should be ashamed and so should sideshow. It's their loss because we'll end up buying bootlegs for a fraction until they go out of business.

The paint and sculpt match the prototype. I don't see any noticeable drop in those areas like their Indiana Jones, Snake Plissken, Nathan Drake, and Luke Skywalker.

The tailoring might just need futzing like lowering the collar to show the neck, but we'll see if that's the case when more pics are posted. One six scale suits are always challenging for mass production figures.

Overall, it's the expression that hurts the figure, but I'm sure those who don't mind it will buy the figure. Maybe SSC will pull a HT and release a tuxedo version with the right expression. :lol

good think i didn't order this guy, still going to hold out on Jason and Freddy, i just dont like any of the final products Sideshow delivers in the 1/6 figure, shame

Their wolverine appears to be good but that's about it

I'm confused. If they were prototype pics, the mismatched face, hands and neck paint would be dismissed as just proto images, but as production photos they look pretty good?
The clothing and paint don't look good, imo. Regardless, those SS studio glamor shots are the best this will ever look. The previous in hand pics are likely much more representative of what one paid $260 for.
