Hard to believe. I read last night she was in stable condition. Same thing happened when my dad died. He seemed to be recovering then things took a sudden turn for the worse. She'll be missed.

I think that was what deceived alot of people. You can be close to death and be stable. You just arent getting worse. That first report of her not getting any air for 15 minutes. My guess is she was brain dead and they left the choice for the family. I knew this was coming but i really hoped to be wrong. Really horrible. Im devastated

Extremely sad to hear this news. It will never be the same for me to watch ESB or any Star Wars film that Carrie was in, including next years film. Hard to believe she will be gone for a year when we finally see her last work. I met her once, and she was very kind and funny. She will be greatly missed...

This scene will deeply saddened me every time I see the film now

And This

Thank You Abrams so much for putting these moments that we will remember in the film

Look at Carrie Fisher back in 1980 when she had that 2 minute scene in the Blues Brothers. Look at those beautiful brown eyes. I will always remember that funny scene.

So they are probably gonna have to do CGI Leia for episode 9 for some sort of death scene then?

Very saddened to hear the news. She gave us a lot of good cinematic memories. RIP Carrie.

Of course she's most notorious in Star Wars as Princess Leia, but I also though she was hilarious in "The Blues Brothers" and actually as Tom Hanks's wife in the cult classic comedy "The 'Burbs".

Not to mention her brief cameo on TBBT roughly a year ago when James Earl Jones ding dong ditched her house. :lol

"IT'S NOT FUNNY ANYMORE, JAMES!!!"

JEJ in the distance: "Then why am I laughing? HAHAHA!"

I think we'll see a lot more Billie Lourd in the coming episodes. Hope so, anyway. A natural progression IMO.

So glad I had the pleasure of meeting her, very funny and a great personality RIP Carrie Fisher

People dying at christmas left an right. Yeah this just sucks all around.

I'd try to be more eloquent but I'm in no mood. **** sake. RIP Carrie Fisher.

So incredibly sad. She was amazing as Princess Leia, of course, but she was so brave and talented in real life too. I hope Hot Toys considers a General Leia for Episode VIII.

Oh snap! Almost forgot she was in the Burbs. I remember going to the theater for that. Classic comedy! :goodpost:

This effected me all day at work. I just took my son to see Rogue One last night. SPOILERS*** that scene, my son jumped with excitement. Leia was the first person female poster I had in my room, in her slave outfit. My first crush on an actress. I grew up with Star Wars, to the point where I'm know as that Star Wars guy with friends and family. I feel like I lost a family member today. RIP Carrie Fisher. I will always remember you,as you brought and will always bring joy to my life. I know get to tell my daughter the tragic news, her favorite character Leia has passed.

This one has unexpectedly hit me...

I never had the boyhood crush, she was never my favourite character (even though I still loved her character), so it doesn't feel like the Star Wars love/loss that's hit me...

I just feel profoundly saddened for her, her family, even poor old Gary (her dog). You read the battles the poor woman went through her whole life, and it seemed like she only recently found some kind of peace - then boom, gone. It just feels cruel.

RIP.
