Swapping the heads is possible. I believe all you need to do is put a Premium Color Super Saiyan Vegeta head peg into the newer Super Saiyan Vegeta. If you change the shoulders, I think the Premium Color/Original head would look good on the newer body if that's what you want. I'm not sure who the credit of this photo goes to but I kept it to try and attempt it at some point...

Edited: Sweet doodle, Plissken!

Hercule is so out of character and that's why I like it so much. I've been very tempted to purchase that. Super Saiyan 2 and Future Gohan are absolute buys for me, I'm looking forward to them quite a lot.

Thanks! Here's another I just did, took a bit more time with it... but still not patient enough to do clean work.

Looks excellent

Looks awful.
The old head sculpt already doesn't hold up, putting it on a new figure just makes it worse.
It has that small head on a bulky body effect. So that doesn't look all that good.

i feel like the old head with the smaller shoulders doesnt look too bad though. But yeah, just the old head, it doesnt quite hold up, switching it along with the small shoulders definitely makes it work better imo.

Well that looks awesome:

The neck barely fits into the bottom of the head though. It would take a little modification to maintain any decent articulation.

I like that a lot. Looks like a great Android Saga Super Saiyan Vegeta. All you would need to do is change the boot tips which would be easy with 2.0 Scouter Vegeta. (Even though that'll leave him without the correct boot tips.)

Spoiler Spoiler:

Oh that sounds so good.

That's amazing! How long have you drawn for? It looks really clean already.

I wouldn't say that it looks awful. The older head may not hold up but I think it's a good representation of Android Saga Super Saiyan Vegeta. With the smaller shoulders, the body isn't all that much different from the original Tamashii Nations body.

Edited: Figuarts Zero EX Super Buu has been listed on the Shonen Jump Calendar.

Tien, Yamcha, Nappa, 2.0 Scouter Vegeta, 2.0 Super Saiyan 3 Goku, and Super Saiyan Gotenks are on display at a convention in Brazil* this weekend.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if these are the remaining 2017 S.H. Figuarts releases for Dragon Ball Z.

Spoiler Spoiler:

Edited: Good display, blood. :lol I think there's going to be a few more older releases that will be in the same situation throughout the course of this line's future.

I really hope that the use the smaller shoulders from Trunks on the new saiyan saga Vegeta if/when it's released. He wasn't that jacked back then.

Plissken! That's some great work! Are you doing them on an iPad Pro or Adobe program? Color them up!

Angelo, I'd wager the SSJ3 Goku 2.0 will be the Winter 2017 Tamashii release. Seems like they're following a "new" pattern with the heavy hitters (aka profit-makers) being released around fall/winter.

Oh very young. I can do much more anime accurate stuff on paper, plus I literally have sketched anything in over a year. I take hiatuses from it where I just don't have the urge to do anything.

Thanks. I'm using a Intuos tablet with Paint Tool Sai. I really need to study up on coloring stuff in since there's a lot of shortcuts to make them look better. I'm off all next week for my pseudo honeymoon, so I should have a colored piece next week.

There's a particular brush I found on PTS which seems perfect for SSJ aura effects.

I also always draw free hand.

I think they will be the main if not only releases, it's certainly a lot to work with. and it's highly demanded. The question is about other prototypes like SSG Goku, Buuhan and Buutenks.

Also, on Blood's display, that's a good point :lol Especially for the PC figures. I replaced my SSJ Goku with the SWA one, never looked back but I do plan on bringing him back out sometime. My PC Vegeta also went away after Pliss sold me his OG Vegeta which was not even a month off.

I also picked up Armor Trunks and he's awesome! Too bad he comes with so few accessories, but I love this new system so much. Can't wait to pair him next to Daddy.

I hope Tamashii Nations can clearly see in their prototype that Vegeta's shoulder pads don't fit seamlessly due to the bigger shoulders. Other than that, it looks production ready...

Edited: Change the bottom part of the torso with Super (Saiyan) Vegeta's, you have Namek Vegeta.

What would you like to wager? :lol I'm actually leaning towards 2.0 Scouter Vegeta and Nappa to close out 2017. Vegeta seems to be a great end-of-the-year release, has been for the past two years, and releasing Nappa with or very near would create the most demand.

It's fantastic work even after a hiatus. :clap

There weren't any Figuarts Zeroes revealed at Tamashii Nations event back in October and they just scheduled Figuarts Zero EX Super Buu. Unless we see a new reveal, it's very likely that we'll be seeing one (or two) of the six S.H. Figuarts prototypes scheduled. I would guess Tien and Yamcha because they've been displayed the most. Depending on when Dragon Ball Super officially airs in the Western Market, Tamashii Nations revealing and scheduling Super Saiyan God Goku would be a great opportunity. Hopefully any sort of Buu will finally make his "debut" in the S.H. Figuarts releases after being released in Figuarts Zero and Figuarts Zero EX Character Categories.

I think a lot of the older releases in general are going to appear outdated due to upgraded releases. It's a bad and good thing. Bad that we spent the money on them and they're becoming obsolete, good that we're getting updated and (arguably) better products.

Super Saiyan Trunks is a great release. What accessories would you liked to have been included? I'm looking forward to the Xenoverse Future Trunks release so I can put either the normal or Super Saiyan head on the body and have him displayed defeating Imperfect Cell.

nice display blood!

and yeah these new figures are kind of starting to replace old ones haha although my PC vegeta is BOG vegeta atm and my datong 1.5 vegeta is android saga version. I have no use for manga goku atm, i replaced him with the normal goku with the swa head (and darkened the boots and shirt, still need to paint the belt and wrist bands purple), the only stand in atm is i have my 1st release manga goku body with datong ssj3 head, but obviously it's gonna be replaced with the 2.0 release. Im still concerned about weight issues because his hair is still held up by another stand, i hope they fix that but i dont really see them doing it.

As for the others, i agree that they really need to change scouter 2.0 shoulders to trunks shoulders, he's too jacked for the armor with those delts! lol Overall though, i'm still excited for these new releases even xeno trunks (i want to use the regular head and smiling face on my armored trunks).

To be honest the only release I'm not really excited about is that new Gohan. I feel like it needs more scuff marks or something. It doesn't carry the same "wow" factor as those other figures

yeah i feel the same, and also how it's only accurate to one pose :/ it shouldve been where he's slightly damaged from when he first transformed instead. Although i may use the new screaming face on my SDCC gohan to replicate when he first transformed and use this new one for father son kamehameha.

It should have been released as a Figuarts Zero version. Since it's an S.H. Figuarts, it should have been 1st appearance Super Saiyan 2 Gohan attire but I really like the fact that, despite accuracy, I'll get a well articulated battle damaged Super Saiyan 2 Gohan.

Edited: I wonder why they decided to go with this attire though. I would say because they wanted it to be different from the original release. Similar to how Super Warrior Awakening Super Saiyan Goku was different from the original Super Saiyan Goku release but Super (Saiyan) Vegeta makes that theory incorrect sine it's an updated version of the original Super Saiyan Vegeta.

Edited: Figuarts Zero EX has been officially announced by Tamashii Nations for a May release...

I think Tamashii is following the "re-do" trend on top of getting fan feedback. Let's also keep in mind that the original Vegeta was also a Web Exclusive and once Tamashii put their best effort forward in doing the Super Warrior Awakening Goku, we were all clamoring for an updated Vegeta.

I think Gohan falls in that pattern as well and Tamashii wanted to do another Gohan to show their improvements, but not exactly the same. The re-issue of the original Gohan is still fairly available so you're blocking your sales on that figure by redoing it.

Also, IN MY OPINION the original SS Gohan is a much better and closer character representation of Teen Gohan than the original SS Vegeta. You can notice how the newer Gohan's sculpt-work and design strays little from the original other than being slightly improved and battle-damaged of course, but a lot of us at first thought they were re-using the hair sculpts. The new Vegeta features many new improvements from its predecessor.

We're also getting that new SSJ3 Goku. So the 2.0 upgrades might not stop just there...

well the problem with gohan is that the manga colors is the one people dont really like while the SDCC one is the one that's near perfect. Also doesnt help that this 2.0 one isnt a regular release because they think there isnt much interest in gohan based on the sales of the reissues (but people arent buying the reissue because the manga colors arent that good tbh). So having an actual SWA gohan wouldve really fixed that issue but oh well, it'll take it either way, and it's gonna be a good figure either way. Cant wait to see people do custom weathering on him :clap

As far as the hair sculpt, the ssj1 hair is perfect and i thought so about the ssj2 as well, but lately been preferring the sculpt on the model kit, it's closer to how it looked in the anime and manga when he first transformed, felt like they shouldve took the changes to resculpt a better one as well but it's all good. Heck with tien and yamcha getting a release i have hope for Future Gohan one day! Plus, now it's more likely he'll have the new 2.0 system which is even better!
