i got the Full AF Figure for $130. i don't get why people wanna get just the outfit for $70.

A few of us got the AF jacket, pants, shirt, belt and scarf for $34.40 at blackopstoys ... I wouldn't have done it for $70.

I got in touch with BlackOps, he had a spare, so I snagged that. I have an extra AF jacket now if anyone needs it. :laugh

It's funny with AF vs VTS. AF is extremely bad at taking promo shots of their releases so everyone think it stinks. VTS on the other hand takes great promo shots and everyone cheers. When in fact both versions have their pros and cons. Same thing will happen with the Epoch cop and the AF female cop. The AF looks very bad in their promo shots but in hand it's great. Just not the head, just like their Max.

Importance of photograph.
Never hire your friend (or lowest bidder) for important product photo. Period.

AF version is so incredibly underrated plus it's dirt cheap right now. Shame people threw off on it so badly, for everything it got wrong the vts version got something different wrong.

I don't have the full AF figure but from my research, here are the pros and cons:
Head:
-Pros: accurate facial sculpture and wrinkles on forehead.
-Cons: hair sculpture and skintone.
Accessories:
-Pros: outfit, knife, shotgun, facemask w/ lock, boots (depending on what scene you want to capture), metal ammo/bullet.
-Cons: vest, backpack, sniper rifle, shotgun cells, lack of green medical tin, leg brace, bracelet, bandaged hand, scarf, lack of figure stand.

I would say the VTS one is still a better option as a base figure while AF pros can be considered good add-ons for the VTS in terms of cost and accuracy.

I don't think the head on the AF looks like Max though - or Hardy for that matter. But wrinkles and details are good.

I was going to get the AF boots (as an option) until I realized they are not accurate to Max's boots in the first half.

Someone here made great boots out of "real" leather military boots -- that's the way to go.


And is the face mask better on the AF? I looked at that too and came away thinking the chain on the VTS was more accurate -- looking like you could weave a tube through the links.

The VTS mask doesn't even come with the lock while AF mask does. And you can actually open the AF one while the VTS is a solid molded piece. You are right about the chain though.

That was me. I made a bunch using newline miniatures german boots. And the was finally able to get the HT han solo boots which I customized to make into Max's mfp boots.

Ok not a bunch but it was mainly trial and error until I got it right.

The VTS mask doesn't even come with the lock while AF mask does. And you can actually open the AF one while the VTS is a solid molded piece. You are right about the chain though.

The mask with chain seems symbolic of the two releases. You need both.


Though, I suppose I'd never really pose him with that cage on his face. I would kind of like to weave the plastic tube through the chain and add some blood throughout, just to see what it'd look like though.

I think my Fury Max will be the climax Max with "tennis shoes" -- as un-Max-like as those shoes seem. He'll contrast nicely with Climax Mad Max from Road Warrior.

This has been a very fun project for me. Got me do a lot of work to get everything right rather than just display him straight out of the box. Can't wait to finally say: "My Max is completed. And he's perfect, perfect in every way!" lol xD

anyone figure out how many silver buttons max has on his shoulder armor base?

i just happen to have 6 buttons as one of my German Pleather pouch flaked off and it had 6 buttons.
