Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

Greggo,

Any idea when BCS might be showing any pics or news on the Penny Dreadful figures?

Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

Also the waistcoat is wrong it has 4 pockets not 2 and the trousers/pants does not have 2 rear pockets. We are aware of the level of accuracy. I've been studying this costume very closely :)

It's great that you're going into such detail Greggo!

You're right about the waistcoat, as can be seen here (hands in lower pockets, uppers level with second waistcoat button down):

However the trousers do seem to have jetted rear pockets with button fastening, as can be seen here in the cell scene (they can also be seen in the fight with Ms Galore in the barn).

Yes I believe it has one rear jetted pocket on his right side.

Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

We are still awaiting responses from CBS. Can't say much until we have been informed.
That's what I was going to PM you about Greggo, thanks for addressing that. Both Ethan's and Vanessa's sculpts are probably complete so it wouldn't make much sense to scrap the line. It sucks CBS is really dragging their feet, we want our PD figures! :gah:

Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

Nowadays there would be 20 grey suits made for a film - not sure what they would have done in 1963, but if they made more than one they wouldn't necessarily be identical.

I'm intrigued at the thought of a 1/6 DB5. The practicalities are mind boggling. Above all else I hope they don't make it out of polystone.

I always thought I'd seen two pockets during the fight scene in the barn and just presumed that was it, but you're right, there's only one during the scene when he escapes the cell and when he is under the map.

Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

I have to say, there are things I have been displeased with my BCS figures in the past, notably the very loose bodies. It would be great to see a program similar to Asmus' that would give us the opportunity to upgrade ours to the new, higher quality ones being produced. The same would be awesome for figures beginning with, say, series 7b 11 headsculpt if the new paints are that much better.

But that being said, I love my Dr. Who figures, and anyone who's spent some time in those threads knows that with a little futzing skill and magic they do look really good. Some of the tailoring BCS pulls of is great, notably pants and button up shirts. The jackets are likely their weakest point when it comes to tailoring. And like others have said, price is a stingy point, but that's been hashed out far more than it needs to be at this point.

One of the things I love is the amount of trinkets their Dr. Who figures come with. The accessories are unique, useful, and fun; that's something that a lot of bigger companies forget these days. I do have faith in this new line for that very reason.

All that being said, with the hope that the promises being made are carried through, I'm happy to see this line finally get some 1/6 attention. Greggo, I'm telling you, bring be a Brosnan bond and you have a sale!

Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

I think it helps that BCS is a British company. I know some other companies were after the license and didn't get it.

Now that's very interesting..not sure if it's the right strategy though....

Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

The last new one I remember was Moonraker Roger Moore,in February 2005.I think the Legacy versions released a little after that.

Re: Big Chief Studios Acquires James Bond License

Can someone from Big Chief speak about the line? A little more details, plans for waves...I'm a huge 007 fan and it's very exciting that we'll get Craig finally.

Everything Greggo has spoken about is all he's able to share now, there are things that have to go through the proper channels before they can share more.
