Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

So when I was at Comic Con looking at the new animated figures (and no I didn't get to see the new Ivy and Freeze, that was a behind closed doors press only thing), one of the things that stuck out to me was how fat the Superman figure's jaw was...like the sculptor accidentally worked off the Bibbo model sheets for a while.
(Pic from Toyark, since my own photo didn't come out so well)

Since I frequently mess around with stuff in photoshop when I get bored, I went ahead and shaved a little off the sides of his jaw and lowered his head on his neck a little to alleviate some of the giraffe-neck syndrome.

Best part is, if DC Collectibles leaves Supes as is, the jaw mod, and possibly the neck mod, should be doable for any collector with a little skill and a little guts.

That's a pretty good photoshop job there Stewie. I'm liking your look!

If they make a pre-1997 Joker with trenchcoat and fedora and give him his cane, knife, and joy buzzer from that scene in Phantasm, I'll be as happy as a clown.

Trenchcoat Joker is a given. He'll come sometime down the line, for sure. And he'll be mine.
LOVE that outfit.

Plus, a "Expressions Pack" Joker, like the Batman one, will also be released. Defenitely. And will be mine, as well.

Good work there, Griffin!
Lowering a head on a figure's neck is actually a pretty simple fixup.

I lowered my Mad Hatter's head couple of months ago, and the result was fantastic.
I always felt that the figure had a long neck, as opposed to the character on the show.
So, all I did was make the hole on the neck deeper, to that the "ball pin" on the head would stick deeper and, therefore, the head would be lowered.
Much, much better.
I'll post a comparison pic later.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

As long as the expression pack for Batman sells well (and they'll probably have to fix that ugly Bruce Wayne head first), a Joker expressions pack does seem very likely. I meant to talk to Jim Fletcher or Kevin Kiniry about that at the show, but I didn't get the chance.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Ideally, we'd get Trenchcoat Joker before an Expressions pack. That way, we could get 3 regular heads, and, maybe, 3 hatted heads, or something. You could include his shopping cart and complete the look for "The Last Laugh."

Personally, I still think it'd be awesome if they did a MotP 2-pack with unmasked Andrea and Battle Damaged Joker with his missing teeth and his Jetpack.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

It's a prototype version of the Zatanna figure.

Well to be more precise, it's a "test shot" that they do before starting production to make sure that new molds work. They take whatever colored plastic they have on hand and run it in the mold. After that, the factory will often have several of these assembled just to check the shapes.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Just nabbed Zatanna, Ras and Catwoman in the last few days. Quality's getting better with these figures. :)

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm slightly frustrated that my LCS has the rerelease of Catwoman, yet continues to receive more stock of the first run TNBA Batman... That rerelease is the only fig I'm missing so far.

I'm too scared to order theses figures on-line though cause the paint job is all over the place. I normally have to look over 2 or 3 figures to get the perfect one. I only found 1 new Catwoman without the peg hole locally and it had a gob of black paint on her eye.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

great poses guys! I just ordered TNBA two face off amazon for 20$ shipped! :rock I think I'll give joker the tommy gun and pose him up with that. :)

So, as I mentioned couple of days ago, I lowered my Mad Hatter's head, as I thought the neck was too long, as opposed to the actual character on the show.
Loved the result.

It was pretty simple: I made the hole on the neck deeper with a hot nail, so that the "ball pin" of the head could stick deeper and, therefore, the head would be lowered.
