Johnny Lightning from maybe ten years back?? There is an old promotional picture from the 60's with Shatner holding a model of the ship and I was trying to copy it but really couldn't

Aww, great idea! Maybe you could do a comparison picture with the real one side-by-side. I love such stuff.

A while ago I also let Kirk and Spock play with models. Wrong scale but just to show that boys always will be boys:

Haha! Brilliant.
I love these figures. As far back as I can remember,Trek and Who were my favorite things. Every Christmas brought me the two Annuals, and there were of course the mego figures if the 70s. They just weren't quite as good as I wanted. Now, 40 years later, we have the figures I've always wanted. I am having so much fun with these.

Great picture! I would love to see a closer shot of Kirk and the 10th Doctor. I had considered picking up a Dr Who figure, but didn't think the quality would stand up if posed next to some of my Hot Toys figures. Kirk on the other hand looks great next to any of my Hot Toys. Anyway, I'd love to see a closer look of Kirk and Ten side by side. Thanks.

What do you think about how Ten holds up in hand when next to Kirk? I have been told that the paint apps on Ten aren't even close to Hot Toys quality, and while Kirk's paint apps aren't Hot Toys quality either I think it's pretty close. I thought about getting Ten and Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly by QMX to display together and was told that Ten would look pretty "doll like" next to Reynolds. I don't have either.

I like both my 10s.
It is true that that the faces do not have the layered texturing that most Hot Toys have.

Kirk has a fairly flat paint app, and it works because of it.
Looking at these guys 'live', they do kind of work well side by side.
My lighting sucks big time. So, pics never show reality.
