A friend got extra tickets as he works for the local Megaplex. Very entertaining.
It had me entertained, so for what is worth, IMO, it succeeds as being a "good movie".
Is it The Godfather good? No.

She's good. That's the best negative review I've ever seen on YouTube. So many of them are just overreacting with a bazillion F-bombs and scatter brained. She did a really good job of explaining why she didn't like it and why some others might.

I'm planning on seeing it again Tuesday when AMC has their tickets at $5.00 just to make sure I caught everything.

Now that's a bright gal who has her **** together. Kudos to her for nicely obliterating the SJW narrative regarding the release of this film.
Just got back with my two boys.
First let me say I thought the trailers looked like garage. I thought this film from the trailers looked offensively bad. That was based on the trailers alone. I did not have the feelings of "this is ruining my childhood" I really like the film but I was a bit older when I saw it and I knew no matter how bad this new film might look or be I would always have the original.
So going into the new film I did not have high hopes. But I was slightly optimistic after reading some decent reviews. Anyways on to the film...
It was not offensively bad. However it was bad. In all honesty I am shocked that this has gotten any positive reviews. It was unfunny and boring. Had it either been funny or fun to watch I could get why some find enjoyment... But there was none to be found. I smiled once, chuckled a second time, and appreciated a JAWS reference. That was about it for the wit that this film had. The cast had no chemistry at all IMO. I did not get a feeling that these ladies knew or cared for each other... Sure they would say the did but it just was not there.
AS for the ladies let me say some things about them.
I usually love Kristen Wiig. Love her on SNL and loved her in Bridesmaids. She was not bad in this film. They just gave her nothing to do. Her character was much like the film itself. Boring and unmemorable.
Now as for Leslie Jones, I hate her stand up comedy and never saw her on SNL. I thought, like most she looked really bad in the trailers but she was not that bad. She was fine in the film. I did not think she was funny but I thought her character was likable.
I have to be honest, I don't get the love for Melissa McCarthy. I thought her role in Bridesmaids was just a Chris Farley impression and she went on to do that impression in some other film... I have never seen SPY so perhaps she is good in that. In this film she was almost as boring as Kristen Wiig but not as likable.... But that may be because I don't care for her in other films.
Which brings us to Kate McKinnon.... AWFUL! Not funny at all.... She tried but failed. I can't believe people out there think she is the highlight of this cast. She is by far the most annoying. None of her stupid faces, voices, dance moves, or antics were ever funny and she is doing it all the time. They tried so hard to make her cool and crazy but she just came across as obnoxious. I thought her role was the most like the awful trailers. Having said that, she was the only one who stood out and was somewhat memorable.. Problem is the memories for me are all bad. If I was 9 or 10 I might have liked her and thought she was cool... As an adult... I just could not stand her.
Chris Hemsworth was OK but again not funny. His best part was when he was not on screen (his ghostbuster voicemail).
The villain had the same problem as most everyone else. Boring and unmemorable.
I am shocked that there are those out there saying it is better then the 2nd GB film... Don't get me wrong GB2 is no classic but as least it had some funny moments and the cast still had chemistry. This film lacked all of that. All I thought about leaving the film is just how much better the film makers and cast were in the original.
I think woman can be plenty funny. I love Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler and think they have made some pretty fun and funny films. However if woman want to prove they are as funny as men then they should not use this film as an example.
As for this film hating on men... Eh.. I guess... Film was bad enough I guess I just did not notice or care.

Just watched the full review... Yeah... Pretty much spot on.
BTW I understand that some audience members will like this film.. But critics who hate on films like BvS and Transformers but give this film a positive review just don't want to be called woman haters or nerds... IMO anyways. I guess there is a chance they liked it... But I think they are being more PC then anything else... Film was just not funny and a comedy that is not funny is a FAIL.
