I think I like this one better, I love how Maul is in mid air kicking Qui-Gon. And that there is nothing to support him just makes it so much better.

DOTF is cool for action, Ani-Obi is cool for emotion and a more involved base. Each has it's plusses. Yoda-Dooku, while well sculpted by Trev, just didn't do anything for me really, I didn't feel much emotion from that Duel and didn't really get anything out of the fighting other than seeing Yoda duel for the first time.

I liked watching the AOTC duel, but like the duel on Grievous ship, there wasn't really an emotional stake in it, it was just a duel for the sake of a duel really. TPM had the rivalry of Jedi and Sith coming alive after thousands of years of nothing between them, ROTS had the 2 most powerful masters going at each other for dominance and 2 brothers going head to head, ANH had the rematch of that duel, ESB had a hero going against his mortal enemy and Jedi had a son trying to redeem his father. The only way I'll drop money on an AOTC duel dio is if it's really inexpensive, or if it features Obi-Wan and has an interesting composition, I love Obi-Wan so it's hard to pass up things with him worked into them.

Just got this bad boy - it was this diorama that made me go back and buy the other 2 and I have to say it's the best of the 3. I haven't looked at the credits, but I'd guess it's Trevor's work - the likenesses are fantastic. Very dynamic too. I'll try to get some pics over the weekend.

Sand is running through the hourglass Dave; the weekend's almost over--- pics please?:D

The thing for me with the AOTC Dio is the emotion comes from watching Yoda go at it. That to me made the purchase worth it.

#23 of 100 made the purchase worth it for me.:D

And I can't wait for your pics Maulfan in three days-- I'll have to live vicariously through them until mine gets shipped.

What they should have gone for, is to have Dooku mess with Obi-Wan's head with respect to Qui-Gon...Dooku did that when he had Obi captive, but it wasn't used in the duel. That would've kicked up the emotional impact 100x.

The "emotion" in the Dooku-Yoda duel is simply a treat for the fans. It did not carry any emotional weight regarding Dooku's betrayal. It doesn't stand the test of time in comparison with the other duels. Just my opinion... :duh

Totally agree, it was about "wow look at Yoda!" There just wasn't any relationship between Dooku and any of the 3 Jedi really, and you only learn of Yoda's relationship at the end of the duel, might have added something if the Padawan part was established before sabers crossed. That lack of relationship carried over into ROTS, I still didn't feel like there was anything going on other than a stepping stone duel to clear out one apprentice for Anakin to rise.

Yeah, #50 made it worth it for me. :) And I can't wait for some pictures either. I am very interested in this one but I need to see some real pics first.

I got a few dioramas sitting right here, took a few hundred pics, and I'm logging off now.. see yas! :lol

Yeah, they could have done that and it would have made it even cooler. However, I don't mind it being a treat for the fans since that's what I am. Its a cool scene and something I enjoyed so it ranks among the cooler moments for me. Just my opinion......:peace

Some of the emotion for me comes from reading the novels and other items that do give the back story. Plus as I said its a cool moment and nice to have it captured in polystone. So for me it was worth getting for that alone but I understand that some people do need a complete back story/very emotional background for their pieces.

It's not even for pieces, like the Padme vs Nexu one doesn't do anything but look cool to me, with the pieces if I like the look overall enough to want to spend the money I will and even now I think I may drop the Padme one just because of other places to put the money.

Just in general, the AOTC duel scene didn't do anything for me like the other saber duels, other than a chance to see Yoda fight, more Obi-Wan action, and seeing an arm chopped off.

I understand. AOTC is my least fave of the SW movies but that scene is my fave probably just because you do get to see Yoda fight.

I want a diorama of Jar Jar stepping on Eopie poop. That right there was the most emotional moment of the saga...

I like Yoda vs Sidious more. It wasn't his first duel we see, but the two power threats of each side head to head was awesome, I really hope we get a dio of that at some point.
