Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

It's far more complex than simply just who you prefer. I (obviously) like IM more than CA but came out feeling a lot of sympathy for Cap, and a fair bit for Tony too. The Russos weren't lying when they said you'd come out without really knowing who to side with and who to side against :lol

That's what I've heard also, regarding them saying that they will give legitimate reasons as to why both sides could potentially be right. I personally really like that.

I think one's personal political preference though will play a large role in determining who they emphasize with more (provided it's not just blind loyalty simply because they think one character is more "cooler" than the other).

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Mark 46 was simply awesome...you can really feel that this armor is the one worked on the most and the highest-tech one yet. Took a tremendous amount of beating and yet came through unscathed for the most part, which really is what an Iron Man armor should be (not those fiasco of suits in IM 3, incl the Mark XLII that seemed intended to only be used as a comic relief).

Thought the suit-up scene was really cool and very well done; only thing missing, personally, for me was having JARVIS at the center of the suit's systems...still prefer him to FRIDAY somehow.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Just out of curiosity, are people choosing their side so to speak simply based on who they think is the "cooler" superhero, or genuinely taking into consideration the political motives of each character and what each side is advocating and representing?

For instance, my bother is a die-hard IM fan, but just can't support what he's trying to campaign for in the film, so he's on Cap's side.

I never knew that this would happen to me. I went to the movie knowing that I was on Cap side because I read the comics and IM was a jerk. But by the end of the movie I felt really bad for Tony and understanding him too more than Steve (not that hes wrong). This movie is a masterpiece, the action scenes were out of this world and made me feel sad about of em fighting. U know? I was completely captivated by those characters. Man... I'm going to watch this tomorrow. For now, its my number 1 superhero movie.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I loved the movie. I have always supported cap because he does what is right no matter what others say or what the rules say. The movie made me support him even more. I felt sympathy for stark but thought that he let his guilt at the start overcome his rational thinking though the last part was understandable. Zemo's part was well written too.

One point is that in the comics the avengers always help in the aftermath of a battle like in the cleanup and rescue of stranded civilians but in the movies they just disappear after the fight. Helping out after is what they should be doing and not just about being accountable.

Overall it was the best marvel movie to me thus far. I enjoyed this more than BvS which was understandable as BvS needed to introduce 2 new main characters. We are living in an age of wonderful comic book movies!!

Great to hear!

I'm looking forward to seeing this next weekend.

Yea same here. Really happy to hear positive feedback and high praise. I won't be surprised if this ends up outdoing all (or most) of the MCU flicks before it

I think both sides had really valid points. In fact, I think had they worked together, either side would have been right in the end. Their divisiveness however is what created their problems. Nobody was wrong in this film I think and that's what I really liked about it.

This armour will be remembered not for the cool stuff it did, but for what it stood for in Tony's journey as Iron Man. In my opinion, it is up there with the Mark 3 and you should all get this if you can.

I dunno, if the 46 is as keystone as is being said I would have to go 1/4 or bust :lol :slap

That's how I'm feeling about all the CW threads...

I watched the first trailer and that's it. I decided to make a conscious effort not to watch anything else because I didn't want anything to be spoiled. Last year watching AoU felt like re-watching all the trailers and tv spots except they were finally put in order. Somewhat ruined it for me.

It sucks coming into these threads and seeing screen caps of stuff I don't want to see but I suppose those are all fair game since they're on tv. But personally I would appreciate if opinions that may influence the viewing experience would be spoiler tagged.

Well I've pretty much worked out the humour element of the Stan Lee cameo already.. :dunno

Soooo why do movies like this get widely released outside the US first? I'm on the verge of shutting down my Facebook because of spoilery memes and gifs. Argh!

My thoughts exactly. After this film, for me Mark 46 essentially represents one of the biggest (if not the biggest) development of Tony's journey. It's one thing to have a cool suit, but I will always remember this suit for the story he went through.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

:duff another BP fan! Hell yeah! Nice sig! I was going to get Cap and BP, but after the movie I had to get IM instead of Cap, since I'm not a huge fan of him (and I also sold my 2 IMs cuz I still want some other figures from other movies and I have no space left here :( ). Now from this movie I'm getting BP and IM. Maybe Spidey but I think I'm gonna wait for his solo movie.
Thanks! Your sig is really cool :hi5: . Im getting BW, BP and SW. I have Cap but its first avenger version and I really should have updated figure.
I think I just wait for infinity wars cap. I also have IM and its Mark VII.
