My biggest issue is still the same as always. We aren't going to see the tiniest amount of head movement. It's kind of funny that armoured bats is gonna be more articulated with all the armour on.

I'm kind of worried about the fact that this whole line has pretty much only been shown with their arms by their sides and standing straight.

I wonder if the cape is big enough to pull over like the other Batman movie figures.

Cross posting from the statue thread:
Decided to pass on the 1:1 HT batman and (still unannounced) superman statues. Batmans a bit idealized, supermans head looks to small. Oh and the asking price is ridiculous IMO. Batman should be way cheaper than armored batman...not a bit, but wayyyyy cheaper. And their outfits should've been fabric.

But alas..prime 1 is the way to go. Better sculpts, half the size, and their outfits are fabric.

Real excited for BvS offerings this year.

I Dont think the Prime 1 Statue 's suits are Fabric, maybe just the capes.

In the specs it says fabric costume. I HOPE they don't just mean the cape. If it's just the cape, that's highly misleading no?

Either way...I'm still getting it. Looks too awesome haha.

It looks like they tightened the shoulders definition, looks very nice. As for loss in articulation, we'll just have to see how much we have once it's in hand.

Those look great next to one another.

This is starting to look pretty good, my only concern is will then new tweaks they've added to the abs area. Will it hinder articulation I wonder?
Saying that, Antman had limited articulation in that area and it wasn't a major problem for me personally.
As long as it looks good! Haha

The abdominal section on Armored Bats kind of looks similar to the ab section on a lot of IM figures. Regarding articulation, I'm generally a museum poser, so a slight loss of articulation (if any) doesn't bother me if it means the figure looks more accurate. Personally, I would trade articulation for accuracy and detail each time.

I LOVED Batman v Superman. For me, it's the best live action portrayal of these characters. Tim Burton's vision was a gothic fantasy, which was great for what it was. Nolan's vision was a little too grounded for my taste, but I enjoyed those movies, too (minus Bale's increasingly awful Batman voice).

I thought BvS was a great mix of action, dialogue, and narrative. I feel that a lot of the dialogue in Nolan's movies were just speeches... The characters spent a lot of time talking at each other as opposed to with each other.

I also thought Henry Cavill did a terrific job, too. I think it's a shame that more folks aren't talking about his performance. They did a great job as portraying him as a man who is just trying to do the best he can. Wonder Woman and Lex were great, too.

I concur with your assessment. It's funny because I think Cavill's Superman is similar to Nolan's Batman in the sense that this interpretation of Supes seems to be more grounded and a more realistic take than any other previous rendition, but Affleck's Batman seems to be straight out of a comic book.

Heh thanks. My wallet and my wife (IF she finds out how much they cost) will be like:

I asked you in the statue thread if you plan on picking up the statues. So...are you gonna pull the trigger? :)

I really really really really really really want to pull the trigger so bad.
I have told myself No already, but there's a still a part of me that wants to reconsider everytime I look at the picture.
But I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger when lately I've been having many unexpected bills come up.
Just last weekend, had to get another lawn mower...Almost $300...now the AC unit at my house is making a weird noise, that and a few more
things came up. So I'm having a hard time justifying paying $2k for one figure. Specially since I'm already getting a 1/6 version.

But good gosh...the Prime1 looked like it stepped out of the screen. Freaking beautiful.
Major major congrats man for getting it.
Sigh...I'm jealous. lol.

Ah dude, that sucks. Sorry to hear that and I hope you get all of those financial issues taken care of. Perhaps you can start selling some of your old collection to fund the statue OR take care of what needs to be taken care of? To help ease your mind, take pride in the fact that you are a responsible adult that knows when to stop. Unlike some people out there that would rather pay $230 for a "toy" than pay bills or put food on the table. Sort of like that idiot in China that sold his kidney to buy an IPad....

There was a pic I saw not too long ago, of a real expensive sports car parked in front of a crappy looking house in a crappy looking neighborhood with the caption "priorities". It got a good laugh outta me. DON'T be THAT guy lol!

Besides, this batman is just another incarnation of the character. In another decade he's gonna be rebooted again with a new actor and new look. Who knows, maybe the next cinematic batman will be THE ultimate version of the character. Who's to say the next version wouldn't be better than Afflecks Batman? I mean for a while I thought Bales take would be hard to beat...but lo and behold Snyder gave us Arkham City Batman! Don't get me wrong, I STILL LOVE Bales batman...but to finally see Afflecks version as a beast and unleashed is a dream come true.

That last line probably didn't help with your decision lol...but anyway, don't feel bad if you don't end up getting it. You're doing the right thing. Life comes first.

That's pretty funny. :lol
That's actually a perfect analogy and probably the biggest reason why I havent pulled the trigger.
Honestly, its not cause I cant afford it. I can PO it right now.
Also, I've sat down and figured out which 1/6 figures I can part with, and not even pay a dime for the Prime1 Batsie.

I have no issues buying 1/6 figures cause my financial status allows me to buy them comfortably.
But 1:2 scale is more along the lines for people with a bigger budget.

So for me, to get the Prime 1, its like that analogy you just mentioned.
Sure, if I really want to, I can buy it.
But the biggest thing is I dont know if I can justify to myself that I bought a figure that is more reserved for people with a better pay grade.
I think I would feel very guilty getting one.

Oh don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to imply you couldn't afford to buy anything. If it came off that way, I deeply apologize. If it isn't clear already, I too can afford to buy the statues...which I did hehe..but I also asked myself "do I really need this?". If I had monster bills to pay and mouths to feed, I'd probably find myself skipping the statues.

Like I said, I too can afford these things and more...but I was always taught to be sensible with how I spend my money. So far,The most expensive thing I've bought to date is the 1/6 delorean. I try not to let thoughts of guilt creep into my head haha. And now with these two statues...$4000 right off the bat. Believe me...the guilt is there lol! I'm sure it'll melt away when they arrive...their awesomeness will make me forget how much I dropped on them :)

Conroy did voice (a great voice) but he never PLAYED Batman.

Not sure why many keep pretending he did.

Don't say that. The nerds still insist he is the definitive Batman even though he never put on a Batman costume.

None at all man...your post made a lot of sense. :duff
Like I said, the analogy you used is spot on, and a primary reason why I havent pulled the trigger.

And again, you also bring up a good point about asking "do I really need this"?
That is also a big rule of mine.
The thing is, when making purchases that are not cheap, I usually ask that question, and if the answer is a resounding "Yes"...that I'll regret it if I missed out, then I'm okay with the purchase cause I have no regrets.

At the moment, I ask myself the same question on Prime1 Batman, but I cant definitively say Yes.
If it was...then that might have pushed me to pull the trigger.
I think a big reason is that I'm very excited to get the Hot Toys version.
Had Hot Toys not done any updates and the final is the prototype on page 1, I think that may also push me to reconsider getting the Prime1.
Fortunately, The current WIP are looking better and better...so I think I would be happy and content with the Hot Toys version.
