Thanks for the recommendation and the commentary on the chronology guys. I'll have to have a Mad Max marathon one day. The loose chronology or complete lack thereof doesn't bother me. So I guess it could be viewed as standalone films in their own right if you preferred? Kinda reminds me of The Return of the Living Dead and Return of the Living Dead II with the same actors playing the same characters and pretending like the previous movie didn't happen even though they DIE in the previous movie. [emoji38] Mad Max doesn't sound anything like that but I'm just saying it doesn't bother me.

This is one of those instances where I wouldn't mind a company making an "Angry Apocalypse Survivor" and "Furious Rig Commander"

I don't know why the Interceptor even ended up being in Fury Road.
He does nothing with it and it gets crushed at the end.
At the end when he was swinging high up on those polls, I thought he was going to get flung off and land on his Interceptor and then take it back and save the day. If they had of made it like the start of Mad Max 1 at that point, of showing him get in, slowly prepare himself, flooring it and coming to the rescue, I probably would have lost it and started screaming in the cinema :D

...but instead it just got crushed and was gone again.... :gah:

Miller is a visual director (obviously) and he sees shots he wants and does them, damn the chronology. He wanted a iconic shot of the lone mad wolf by his Interceptor, so he shot it, and used it for the poster.

Mad Max is full of time line chicanery.

I just wish he hadn't taken so much inspiration from the Benny Hill show. The frame rate manipulation was pure ****e and took so much away from the movie. IMO, this was not a memorable film and doesn't hold a candle to the originals.

I'm losing my mind over here. Come on Miller let someone(Hot Toys please) make the damn toys!!!!!!!!

I think Miller owns all the rights from what I understand. I don't think it matters what WB says. I want, Max, Furiosa, Nux, Joe, Bullet Farmer, Rictus, and several other characters. No way is a knockoff (I assume you're mentioning here) is going to do more than Max.

Yeah Miller is the one making the call. And it's all about control. For him anyway. That's what he's said.

For what is worth....
Ranking
1. Road Warrior
2. Fury Road
3. Thunderdome
4. Mad Max (i cannot get past the awful dubbing) wish we had the original voices)

Miller probably doesn't want a bunch of cheap ass products flying around like lunch boxes an towels....so better to skip the license thing altogether. Maybe no Hot Toy could every stand up to his standard. I mean after all , look how long he waited to make the movie the way he wanted. I am glad he has high standards

I love Mad Max. The whole police squad story is awesome. The old Halls of Justice they work out of, Goose on his cycle. Interceptors for police vehicles. I was really hoping Fury Road would have kind of been an updated version of the original. Not a re-make, more like a world on the brink of losing it with a police squad trying to hold it together. Lots of cars/motorcycles and lots of chases. When they were showing the new cars for the movie way back in the day they looked almost like it was going to be futuristic in a clean way. Fury road went the other way, which is cool also.

As for Miller holding the stuff back. I feel like it's Lucas with Star Wars movies, sell it now and let it blow up. I could see if Hot Toys never made anything before but really it doesn't get any better than their stuff. Well maybe it does, but I'm new to 1/6 companies. The new QM(? I think thats the company) stuff for Star Trek looks sick.

Mad Max is really nothing like the rest of the movies. It is a pure revenge flick for both the good and bad guys. Vehicles are their weapon of choice. The wild cars and society right on the brink of total collapse. Awesome. As for the dubbing, there are plenty if copies out there with the original voices. I like some of the original dub but there are also plenty of better voices in the US dubbing like Night Rider.

The others are action movies all in the same defined setting. I love Fury Road except Max. He doesn't match up one bit to any of the previous versions.

The Road Warrior
Mad Max
Fury Road

Seriously, that's what upset me the most when watching Fury Road the first time. I hated it. Max jumps in the V-8 and I'm thinking here we go, mad chase scene int the interceptor, NOPE. It gets wrecked 5 seconds later. Then I'm thinking OK he's gonna get loose and get his car back and then we'll see some Interceptor action, NOPE. I was thinking near the end of the movie when he points and says "that's my car" he's gonna get it back and then it's on, NOPE.

I was completely let down time and time again and then the movie ended. BS! He better be in the Interceptor most of the next movie. I don't want to be disappointed again.
