Just received an email from Sideshow: Pushed back until March. This is so ******* ridiculous, I don't even care anymore.

Got the same email Dingo,I'm waiting till customer service opens up this morning and canceling my order. I'm really just so fed up with this,Beetlejuice and the constant lack of care for the way SS treats it's customers that are spending a lot of money with them. This is the 5th figure that has been delayed now for me,but Aragorn has had the most pushbacks. I could use that $200 on another figure or statue, what do owners think?

I feel terribly sorry about this. This is the first time Asmus doing business with Sideshow,
so all the process went a little slower than usual. I deeply apologize behalf of both parties, but the truth is everything will be good and normal from Pippin and Merry.

We are aware on the side of Asmus, and will make Sideshow as our top priority from now on.

yeah, sorry ... :thud:

Yeah, got the same e-mail.

On the one hand, it's a bummer. But on the other, it's kind of a relief because I'm desperately broke at the moment. But if things are straightening out for future releases, that's good news! :clap

March is gonna sting, though. With Aragorn, Bard (SS also pushed him back to March), Tauriel, Mouth of Sauron and ToD Indy scheduled to ship. Ouch. I'm ready. But my finances aren't!

Appreciate the apologies Asmus, but a similar post was put out a little bit back on the same thread. Does this mean you guys have fixed the peg issue and that is why everything is taking so long? I mean all you have to do is make a contract with sideshow about fees etc... which your lawyers handle and production send the product out. I don't understand why doing business for a first time seems to be a good excuse. Can you elaborate on why it's taken so long? I think it would be appreciated by a majority of people waiting so long and just getting headaches over spending money to keep hearing bad things about the Aragorn and all the pushbacks. I appreciate that you guys are at least responding unlike the silent wolf sideshow. Collectors have been waiting to hear explanations from sideshow on numerous customer service and quality coontrol issues that are just blown off that I'm sure you have read as well, clap: for staying in touch!

just for interest... and sorry if this has already been posted, but I took apart the secondary head to see if the hairline can be lowered. and yes... it fully can.

Well, it's not really anyone's fault, I know SS were one of the last ones to put their orders in, I'm just surprised it's SOOOOO much later than literally everywhere else, who's got it in already.

Nice! Thanks for posting this. I too am on the slow boat from Sideshow, but am also in the broke camp so I'm fine with the delay. When he does come, I'll be looking into modding that hair somehow. Seems like there are a few experiments happening out there. Please post pics when you get it lowered, if you can - would love to see how it turns out.

In my opinion the figure is worth the wait. I am probably biased because LOTR is my favorite book & movie but this figure is my favorite 1/6 at the moment.

I decided to cancel,i got plenty of other figures/statues that are worth saving the money towards. Wetas Dain Ironfoot will be coming into my collection soon and have plenty of hobbit statues etc... just unfortunately never found a good Aragorn for the right price. Anyway checkout Dain Ironfoot by Weta, only 800 pieces and great workmanship especially to go next to Thoran. Let me know what you guys think? At $449.99 free shipping from Weta is worth every penny in my opinion.

Not if Asmus are making one looks just as good at $300~? :monkey5

Pushing your prices up already Asmus. For what product? Any professional pics yet?

Considering their horse and rider combo was $300 it makes sense that this would be in the same price range. It will also be on a newly designed body with multiple layers of clothing and armour as well as a newly designed Boar so the extra price makes sense even though it's a smaller figure.

Well, if Asmus is serious about making a Dain/Boar combo, I vote for a non-articulated boar. I think it would look better and be a lot more stable as a solid, statue-style piece that you can pose the figure on top of.

Despite the fact that I wasn't crazy about the Hobbit movies, I would totally be down for a Dain/Boar set. Great character and costume design. (Even if the character in the movie was a little silly.)

I'm all in on getting Dain on his War Boar. Excellent job Weta pre order in. Clap:
