Looking at those two pics above, I almost think the figure works better with the chest armor on top as the ESB/ROTJ Vader. And I wouldn't be surprised if that's the way a lot of people decide to display him (at least the more casual fans who aren't sticklers for accuracy).

No you don't. :lol

They don't read as real lightsabers the way the CCFL's do, but they're impressive for what they are. They would probably look like glow sticks in photos as that's pretty much what they look like lit up.

Yeah, but I want to see what I'm getting and what'll be on the shelf. I know they don't photograph great, but the more pics of the LED sabers there are, the more you can deduce what they'll look like on the shelf.

It's the one issue with these bloggers pics - is they become so stage-managed with the photoshop, pro lighting and digital backgrounds that they start to become less useful as actual "in-hand" pics, which is technically what they are. They become as faux as the SSC or HT pics are. I guess they're a counterbalance to the distorted flouro-lit iPhone close-ups, but sometimes it feels they take it a bit too far and the ps sabers I think might typify that.

I think we need to stop calling them bloggers. It just seems like they're paid pro toy photographers. We've seen what blogger photos look like when Sideshow sent out the Hoth figures (i.e., they look like ****). And these HT bloggers didn't bother with Luke Stormtrooper or Spacetrooper? Cause their audience had no interest? And all of them photoshop the lightsaber in and backgrounds in? Definitely very stage-managed, by Hot Toys I'd imagine.

I think these bloggers (at least the early ones who get their figure from HT) are somewhat under HT's contract. That's why they go their way to make it almost like promotional figure ads instead of actual review.

Oh, okay - that makes sense. That one guy has dozens and dozens of pro-looking pics on his FB page.

People on here kept calling them "bloggers" so I assumed...

^^ It's a nice photo set for sure, but I really wish they'd dial back the photoshop lightsabers in pics. It's fun to see every so often but it starts to feel like a cheat when there's entire series doing it. I want to see the actual lit saber it comes with.
Right after the pic with Darths Malgus, Vader and Maul, there are about six shots at the beginning of the next shoot that look like the sabre is au naturel (you probably already saw them, but just in case...). Looks pretty good though no comparison to a CCFL. Glad I kept mine when I sold off my SSC Deluxe. See what you're saying about the skeletal fingers, Tali. That is unfortunate but I'm hoping in-hand it is not so glaring.

Will this land before Xmas in the states ?

Lol! Every time I read one of your posts, I imagine it as the voice of Robert Downey Jr. playing Lazarus from Tropic Thunder! I can't help it. It's that avatar. I laugh every time!
I'm not sure when we'll see this figure stateside. Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for the white guy that plays a white guy, who plays a black guy.

White Glove Guy again:

*whistles* That mask is blowing me away, especially in video as opposed to the pics. Lenses for his eyes and the weathering are just incredible.

Sounds like the ordeal for getting the batteries into this figure will likely mean I never bother but I've gotten my fill of the sound effects from this and HT's video. Agree with the reviewer about the stand for the Interrogator Droid. Looks like a cheap piece of flim-flam but I should be able to figure out a way to hide or replace it. Shame they didn't modify the full figure stands to accommodate this piece.

Lastly, think I'm happy with the figure as-is. Not feeling an urgency to replace the chest piece or cape. That may change once I see it done on the boards but hope that I'm just happy with it and save myself the trouble and expense. :)

Helmet's nice, yes..... but man, that chest armor is really small too. It's like the chest box AND armor shrank in the process and they just didn't bother to fix it this round.

I may need both the chest armor AND box from the SS ANH Vader.

White Glove Guy reviews are like watching paint dry but he's thorough. Shame about the batteries. Sounds like a real pain, especially once you have him futzed perfectly.

I cannot unseen the mini-chest armor now.

Nice review of Dahr Vaduh. Although it does concern me about the leather creasing. That's probably the main thing making me hesitant to get it. I always worry about getting figures with substantial amounts of certain materials like leather or rubber.

Who cares about creases?
