I don't get it. My Aragorn cleared NY customs on the 26th but tracking has never changed since then. Most things only take 2-3 days to arrive from NY. Hopefully the lack of an update doesn't mean it is just sitting there forgotten.

Well he finally arrived!

I haven't had any time to get the heat out but I have to say straight out of the box he is the best unfuzted Aragorn yet in my opinion. I love that we got soft boots and ankle articulation. There is even a wire in the coat for posing. I cannot remember if Crawford mentioned that. He is right that without the cloak the neck seems very long but with it on it looks great. The head does not seem as cone headed to me in person. Looks really good actually. A big step up from Gandalf's narrow sculpt. The special base is awesome too and with the soft boots and the ankle joint you can get a bunch of neat poses with it. Well that's as far as I have gotten so far. I will try to post more this weekend and pictures comparing all the Aragorn releases. First impression is 4 to 4.5 out of 5 but it could go up or down as I get out all the gear and test it out.

Thanks for the comments. Do you know if he has a detailed shirt underneath or is it just a dickie?

Eagerly expecting your comparison review! Please, give us more photos of different releases next to each other. Thanks.

Just ordered both. Saved me $100 over what it was going to cost me through BBTS. Not sure if I got the last Aragorn or what. It was pre order when I purchsed and now it says out of stock. Sucks for anybody else who wants to try to order today.

That sucks.

Did you find out if this one comes with the 2nd head? It's not listed on this site, but it is listed on other sites where you can preorder.

I sent a note, but nothing back yet. But perhaps I've missed out already.

It appears to be a shirt. I didn't take off the best thing but there are sleeves underneath the duster/jacket so my guess is it is a full shirt. I have still been ridiculously busy and have only spent 20 minutes or so with the figure so no pictures yet except a few on my phone. I need to learn how to upload those to the site.

An interesting thing is the body forarms. They appear to be painted kind of a strange orangish color. The figure is real sturdy but all the gear, mainly the weapons have so much weight I have had him on the stand since I put the gear on. He might not need to be but the stand is so awesome and I am worried about him taking a tumble with all the gear that I have left on it. In my opinion this figure is their best so far. There are still concerns. A lot of the gear looks real delicate but so do most 1/6 stuff. The only issue I have had with the body is one forarm pops out on me when I switch hands. I good idea is to switch the hands before you put the rest of the gear on him. The other issue I am having is the sword is so heavy that the weight of the handle makes the sword top heavy and without clever positioning the handle tilts the sheath the wrong way and the little knife then slides out. Minor issues. Parts of the second head look good but something is off/odd about the mouth. The main head sculpt looks great at certain times compared to certain photos of Aragorn and he looks quite a bit off compare to different photos. In Asmus' defense Viggo's Aragorn looked very different at times in the movie. It kind of reminds me of the "two face" Sienfield episode. I can easily see different people picking different Aragorn's as having the best sculpt. Some will say ACI, so will say Asmus and some will say Sideshow and depending on which movie still they choose they can probably be justified.

One of the coolest things about this piece to me that pushes it from the 4-4.25 range to about 4.75 to me is that with the soft boots and the great stand you can make this figure look like a small PF statue with the added bonus of being able to change the pose because he is an action figure. Now if the gear, outfit, body and head sculpt were not good the base and soft boots

I didn't find out about the second head. I'm actually going on the assumption that they will all come with it. I know I may be wrong, but I was really happy with the money I saved and the second head is not that great anyway. I have so much coming in over the next couple of months, saving a hundred dollars on two figures is pretty sweet.

I really like this shot in Crawford's review.

Also digging the lothlorien cape and Boromir gauntlets. That amon hen base is GREAT.

Costume seems a bit sloppy though, the long goofy vest ties in particular. I want to like the boots too, but they don't look realistic.

Just got a confirmation from HobbitShop -- their Asmus Aragorn will NOT have the 2nd head.

They also would have charged tax on me. So for $12 less and no 2nd head.... PASS.
