Hell no (to Maul)! Still on the fence with Ben. If I can get him for a good deal a few months from now, I'll snap it up but otherwise I'm gonna give him a pass. I'll wait until HT does the Force Ghost version. :p

Sensible. I like my Ben much more than I thought I would (albeit I did change him -- that material again). But I couldn't recommend it to someone on the fence. I think you'll find a good deal on ebay for the holidays or immediately after.

It was nice knowing you SSC :wave

From your overpriced shipping, to your employee who screwed me over by lying to me, to your $23 NRD that last time I swear never was deducted from my order (I could be wrong), to your NRD in general, to your terrible bodies for 1/6th figures, to your lack of listening to fans (see Green Lantern), to no stands not included with the Jawas even though you showed stands, to the direction your artists go with figures as "interpretive" instead of comic style, to your inability to capitalize on 1/6th figures that should be made but instead cheap out (Cad Bane and lack of Dooku, Ahsoka, and Clone Wars Ventress), to the cheap plastic used for Battle Droids and Grievous, to the multiple month delays in figures, to the lack of information and photographs of final production of figures only until after they ship (see Jango)....

but the final nail in the coffin..... the now blatantly obvious overpriced figures.

You should really formulate that into a professional letter and send it to Sideshow.

Wow! Absolutely unacceptable Sideshow!!! How can they justify that huge price tag with not even what the original release included?

It looks great and I sold all my Maul stuff with the anticipation that this would be the ultimate Maul but man was I wrong!!!

No cloak? No stand? No probe droids? WTF SIDESHOW???? Are you trying to push your customers away?

And you know he is going to need a body swap because all sideshow bodies suck balls!!!! So what the FUUUUCKKK are we paying for here?

And to think back in the good old days we use to sit by our computers to pre-order their stuff. Server crashes and it would take forever to get your order to go through. Now, they can't sell out of most of their exclusives. Sideshow needs new management. They are going the way of Master Replicas.

Server crashes were funny. The panic of waiting until the clock struck 10am PST and then trying to get thru Sideshow's ordering process back then with the slow servers. :lol Good times.

I'm quite shocked how far this little hobby has evolved... and how realistic these dolls have become. And shocked how bad my old stuff looks (not even that old, just 7 years ago).

Grievous, to the multiple month delays in figures, to the lack of information and photographs of final production of figures only until after they ship (see Jango)....
Jango photos went up before they shipped, by a few days I believe. Scout photos didn't, but there wasn't much wrong with that figure that wasn't already wrong on the prototype. Given that the shipment of figures seems to take 3 weeks from China, I'm still a little surprised we don't see photos from a figure that they've airmailed at least a week or two before a figure is charged/shipped.

Just saw the latest buzz. I was considering ordering but no way now. what an insult to the loyal SUPPORTERS after all these years.

Hot Toys: I suddenly have some available funds to throw your way.

HT's Han still shows the prototype and that was a major alteration. Just seems like something neither company can be bothered to do, for the most part.

Yeah, in North America, we get to see the Hot Toys blogger pics for a few weeks before we get these figures, but if they were based in the US, we'd see those the day they started shipping most likely.

yeah, I looked at the stuff I even have in storage and it looks dated for sure. I remember everyone getting mad because they could not get their order in for the exclusives. I remember trying to be a completest back then. Now, I don't care.

I thought you were considering Ben? Is this Maul going to beat out Old Ben...?

Same price I guess.

That Maul pic is hilarious. That Maul was actually the very first Sideshow figure to be in-scale with itself... but they had to shrink him to do it. Damn shame.

What do you mean by in-scale with itself? He wasn't the first to use the short body and still suffers from a very large head (although not as large as some) and monkey arms.

Wait, he doesn't include a figure stand? Um...

I imagine he'll come with a stand... it's usually only the short figures don't come with one. Even if it's not listed in the items, it may still be included; Sideshow's PO information is often inaccurate and/or incomplete.

I forgot about the days of crashing servers. Or waiting for something to go up at 7 so you can order at 7:01.

Even if he came with a stand. Still no cloak and less accessories than the first release and $240.00. No way. They are going to have plenty of these sitting around for a long time. If someone wants this, then wait patiently for a good discount.

Not from what I recall. His head is very small (for SS scale) and actually fit the body better than Luke, Han, Anakin, ObiWan before him. But then he consequently didn't fit in with anyone else. The monkey-arms were built-in with that horrible body, even the short one didn't solve that problem. Futzing and padding helped hide it. Which was the first figure to use the "short body"? Because he's the only figure I remember back then being strikingly small.

Did you see this pic...?

I thought about it for a second, until I remembered taking this pic back in 2008:lol

It's a shame because the figure itself looks great. But the non-inclusion of the cloak, stand, probe droids let it down.
I was interested in this one but not now unfortunately.

Wooooowwwww.... no stand? Really? $240 and no cloak, no probe droids, and no stand???

This is 10x worse than the Green Lantern. Anyone from SSC want to come on here and give an explanation like you did with Green Lantern?

Chewbacca is only $15 more, in fairness he was pre-ordered a year ago and now shipping... but when you can get an incredible figure for Chewie for only $15 more you know something is wrong :lol

Sideshow has lost their way, I'm still pre-ordering most of the OT stuff, but things like this will just not happen. Even if they deliver Maul w/o no issues and a perfect reproduction of the prototype it's still not worth $240.

Luke was also on the short body... but his head was quite large. Maul's head was smaller, but I think still a bit large for the body, but better than Anakin or Obi-Wan. So we might be saying the same thing, I just wasn't sure what you meant by in-scale as I think most of the figures were fairly in-scale to themselves with the exception of Luke who had the large head, hands and long arms to contend with.
