Im buying for sure. Been wanting a Fassneto since FC. Itll be displayed with the helmet so the lack of texture isnt a big deal. Hopefully we can get a decent Apocalypse out of them.

And frankly, it should.
Well you can want it to happen, but as I said before, it's not likely. How many unlicensed 1/6 scale figures have been pulled from production that you know of, that weren't being made by a custom artist like Denny Kim? We've seen unlicensed/knockoff figures from Nolan Batman films, Punisher (War Zone and the Jane movie), Iron Man, various Tom Cruise movies, Troy, Gladiator, the Shining, Blade Runner, Michael Jackson, Clint Eastwood films, etc. etc., and they were released without a hitch.

Now, could the forum get a C&D not to allow threads to promote these figures? Sure, that happens fairly frequently. But very very rarely does that translate into a figure not being produced.

So you can name a few that made it to market. Great. That changes nothing of what I said. And what I want has nothing to do with it. Thousands, heck tens of thousands, of counterfeit goods are pulled or seized in China every year. An average of 4 sites ever hour are pulled from the web, or Twitter profiles shut, or Facebook pages canceled...all from companies originating in China. Just becuase some gets through, doesn't mean it's some super rare once in a blue moon event that they don't. Just becuase you are unaware of it, doesn't mean it's not actually happening. If wager most the events of any kind in this entire planet happen without your knowledge. Does that make what you know common and everything else rare?

As I said before, it would take all of a five minute phone call from one of hundreds of people and this company is in trouble. Both Disney and marvel, as well as hot toys, have a level at which they don't care if counterfeit goods are made, and one at which they will take action. If this figure or this company continue and do anything close to decent business they will no longer be around. Of all the past knockoffs, how many of those companies are actually still making new product? This is a new company. Only been around a year and a half or so. They won't make it to three. No matter how many other past releases you mention it doesn't change anything. It doesn't matter if they are in China or usa. DHS and the intellectual property crime task force can shut them down either way. If they can't sell in eBay, have no Facebook account, paypal won't accept their payments (all USA company's that fall under USA law, btw) they would be done anyway. Add to that the task force can actually act in China, and it can happen that same there as it can anywhere else. This is a specific unique product. Not some bootleg dvd that is much harder to track. All it takes is two keywords in a search and every site that has it can be shut down or told to pull all content or face being shut. You ever the fbi warning on a site? It ain't hard.

So much hate for a cool figure. Unless you are FOX you're not being hurt by this so chill out. Day one buy for me.
Perfect.
While Fox/Marvel swim in a great pool full of money, there are some people fighting about licensed/unlicensed stuff..

Yeah their Sabertooth made it to production and can be bought right now on ebay I doubt anyone will take action against this fig.

Why would someone be so eager for such a cool figure that everyone likes to be pulled off the market due to licensing issue??? If HT planned to make this figure, I wouldn't mind buying one. Fact is they don't, so the only way that I can get my favorate figure is from a third-party company. If you don't support non-licensed product, that's good for you but don't try to shut everyone else's hopes down...

Pre-orders close on October 10, just for those who are wondering.

Hmmm... the face looks too wide, I was hoping for a better likeness.
Seems I still have to wait for a better sculpt to show up.

And go to aliexpress and watch how many hundreds of sellers get pulled every week. It happens. And there's a HUGE difference with this and Lego. Hot toys holds the xmen license for China. It's a Chinese company that is affected. Just becuase there are still other counterfeit goods does not mean they don't do things about it. Ever been to New York or La? Counterfeit stuff there too. New fake nike sites selling out of China pop up Dailey. And they eventually get taken down. I know of one specific company that was making replacement crotch pieces for the iron men hot toys figures that was shut down by this task force I mentioned. I know of a couple other specific knockoffs that where raided as well. And if it directly effects a Chinese company, they are infinetly more apt to act. You can list everything you want that gets made that shows counterfeiting takes place in China. Never said it didn't. But, if this gathers ANY steam, to the point that hot toys, or Disney, or fox, or the actors management team think it jeopardizes any likeness or license deals or future deals(Disney especially..how can they continue to charge the largest license fees of any company, record amounts, when the license isn't enforceable) this company and this figure will go away.

And frankly, it should.

Hot Toys and Disney are doing **** all with the license. They deserve to be undercut. They could be profiting from it if they chose but they choose not to so **** 'em.

And this is no where near the same as general counterfeit products. Those take sales away from the official products but since there's no officially licensed 1/6 movie Magneto this isn't taking sales away from anything

I'll support whatever company will give me the figures I want, licensed or not makes no difference to me. As much as I like HT, they are too busy suckling Marvel's teat to do anything else. I'm still hoping one of these companies makes a Rorschach, since HT failed to do so. Call it "Mystery Man" or something stupid like that. I've got the Art Figures Dredd, and it's great.

Exactly! Doesn't matter the company or if has license, I just want a Magneto's figure.

:exactly: :goodpost:

Fox aren't being hurt, nobody is as this isn't a cheap alternative to an existing product so isn't taking away sales and thus money from Fox or Disney or Hot Toys.

I'd snap up any & all HT X-Men figures if they made them... but they don't.

Since they don't want my money for them I'll give it to another to provide me that product
