This is true, but "A Hideo Kojima Game" has been so driven into the ground... it's the driving force to all MGS comment sections.

Well, I don't look at comment sections anymore so I wouldn't know, but I definitely believe you.

I know right? I can't spend more than 2 minutes on FB cause I immediately start to get literally angry at the stupidity and pretension.

I'm not very smart but most of the people on FB are missing half their brains.

MGS fanbase and Avatar fanbase.... Exactly the same.

I think every fan base is is pretty much the same. Kojima fanboys are just as bad as the David Hayter fanboys, who are just as bad as the Kevin Conroy fanboys etc...

As a Metal Gear fan, I'm happy to see other fans out there enjoying the hype, this is most likely the last real Metal Gear we're going to get.

There probably are shippers in the fanbase...they're just quiet...it's always the quiet one...

Fanbases today are pretty awful, period. Too many kids getting into games by playing the newer ones and not bothering with the older entries. I mean, there is the occasional fan who has the 'old is better than the new stuff', but in some cases, that's true. MGS 1-3 beat out the other MGS games, by far. I've been turned off by a lot of games due to the **** fans, Christ. Almost happened to me with MGS! I can safely say if Kingdom Hearts 3 really gets a release date or anything soon, I'm going to give up on the internet for good.

This is the only site I look at for video games besides being subscribed to channels on youtube, so I don't know what others are saying. I used to look at Gamefaqs, but I decided to stop after people were calling others cis-gendered scum bags for not wanting Chico to be Quiet, and for robbing transvestites of empowerment. It wasn't the site for me, so I just have been checking this thread once and awhile.

I just see all this stuff being entertainment, and I don't see the need for any elitism. All these games and collectibles could disappear from our lives, and it wouldn't affect much. While the creators have to be smart, we are just the consumers. Interests do not reflect one's intelligence, since you don't even need to be literate to enjoy this stuff. There's a lot of people that are wracking their brains over their work, schooling, children, and relationships, and like "dumber" material because it's a great relaxing tool! A lot of people somehow have free time, so they invest their intellect in fantasy worlds, and believe it to give them more academic superiority over others. We're not contributing anything good to the world or being better people for liking stuff, so I don't think that's a fair ideology.

@pturtle Yes, that Creed trailer looked really good! I didn't look at it until recently because I thought it was an Apollo Creed origin movie! Glad I was wrong!

I think I just hate fanboys in general. I'm more familiar with MGS, so I can talk about this fan-base, more than I could with anything else. It's a good series, with enormous flaws that are good for discussion. But, at the end, you just have to accept it for what it is and move on.
