From stuff I buy, I'd say ED-209 (also a disaster on secondary market), War Machine Mark II/Iron Patriot, RoboCop, Terminator (thinking of MMS-238) and obviously stuff like Angelica, Tonto, etc.

Baby doll from Sucker Punch wasn't a flop. It sold out for retail.

A couple I don't believe were mentioned

Mime Joker
Batman Armory

Also, The Godfather, Iron Man MK1 (1.0), Bank Robber Joker (1.0) could all be had for under $120 at one point.

Tony Stark Mechanic. Sideshow was so desperate to dump him I got him on a deal where they gave me 1000 reward points just to buy him.

MMS238 isn't even on double reward points or free shipping.

Hard to believe that the Godfather sold poorly and is now one of the most expensive on the secondary market... :monkey2

Weird , sales flop isnt always an indicator of a flop to me. The Crow is an amazing figure , very well done, but not a great choice for the limited market.

The Crow is not well done at all. That is the problem.
It's a great Brandon Lee base sculpt but that's it. Much of the rest of the figure looks like it was from the early years of Hot Toys.

Indiana Jones.
:chase

Yeah it sort of has to be this one, doesn't it?
Such an anticipated release and one of the only times Hot Toys has knowingly sent out product that production errors ruined. I remember they didn't show any close ups of the final product when it was ready. Long distance final product shot only. They knew the eyeball system had messed it up.
And on top of that, it was a muscular body that didn't suit Harrison Ford, made worse but a leather jacket too puffy and a whip too bulky. The whole package looked like Indy's stunt double.

I agree, but the only time? They've had multiple mess ups before and since.

the BS excuse they had with berzerker predaturd.--> factory shrunk it, thank you now, bye bye then.

the first pred i sold, out of dismay. i kicked it out of my pred clan.lolz

I don't think it's Indy. I agree the figure was a sub par offering for the sculpt and the price, But he sold out and his value has increased in the after market. That right there shows some success.

Right now I'm going with jake sully avatar. No one talks about it much. It's still readily available. It had to consume greater r&d resources. The movie was beyond incredibly successful so you figure there's gotta be an audience. And on top of that the figure actually looks good from what I've seen.

he was a peg warmer that hit the grail status for reasons that still baffles me. lolz
the power of suggestion.
like the reason behind the fantastic 4 positive reviews.lolz

POTC Angelica. SS were literally giving them away.

Which is kind of a shame, it's a nice looking figure.

Metal Gear Solid 3- Snake and the Boss.

Excellent series of videogames, terrible, bland figures.

Many figures that are considered flops are only that because the secondary "supporting" figure to the line was never produced! There should be another thread called Hot Toys "have ass" produced figures. With that list we can place Bruce Banner, Ichobod Crane, Commando, to somewhat of a lighter degree BD T1 Terminator.

Some not previously mentioned,

both Chitauri figures
both City Hunter figures
Clash of the Titans
Prince of Persia
Odin
Rango (seriously, who wanted a lizard and a mouse on their shelves?)

They were very slow to sell and there's virtually no discussion about any of them on any forum anywhere.
Soon to be joining the list, Electro and the 1/12 scale the Bat.

The green Goblin. It was being clearanced out everywhere at one point for under $99.

The Godfather for under 120? Where ? I would buy today!

Many of these flops are still expensive on the secondary market....

What was so bad about The Crow body?
