I had the EXACT SAME INTERPRETATION. I did most of my friends growing up.

I don't mind the clones being an earlier iteration of Stormtroopers though.

I never even imagined that, but it sounded way more ominous than what it turned out to be. I suppose I assumed the clones were an evil army and that other alien species/humans were fighting them off. Would have been a better villain than the battle droids.

Funny how so many people share the same distaste for the PT. At this point I'd much rather watch the CGI Old Republic trailers... The action scenes and combat in those are fantastic.

Best parts of the PT for me are Ewan as Obi-Wan, Palpatine, and Darth Maul. For those 3 things alone I'm glad for the PT and for all the negatives that may come with PT Anakin, the Obi-Wan vs Anakin Duel was awesome and worth waiting for.

Sure would be nice to see some more pics. Maybe an accessory list?

I to would like to see this. More and more I look at it, the more and more I will probably upgrade it even though I was mad this got priority over other figures and even though I already said I would not buy it. :lol

Just curious, does either SSC Maul have a painted body underneath? I am really tempted to try (and most likely fail) at making a 1/6th Spider Maul or Mech Leg Maul.

I wonder if Qui Gon and young Obi Wan will be remade. This new Maul would be too high quality to match along side the older companion figures, maybe?

Obi-Wan should be fine, he just came out a short while ago, even for his time, Qui-Gon was a little lackluster, I get what they chose to do for his hair but it just didn't feel like Qui-Gone that way, and of course it was a Buck body which had it's issues. His robes would likely be a better match in fabric today.

Anakin is the one in most need of having a 2.0 made...

ROTS Anakin would definitely benefit from an upgrade, his right arm was a mess all around, how it attached, the lack of hand articulation. Of the main characters Sideshow did in the early days, I feel like ROTS Anakin, Darth Maul and Qui-Gon were the least effective representations of their characters/film. Anakin could hardly be posed for a film where he fought the most, Maul looked too passive and couldn't be posed as extreme as the character is known for and Qui-Gon just visually didn't represent the character too well. You could mention the head size on Jedi Luke and things but when looking at the other figures in the context of Sideshow quality at the time, they represent the characters well enough.

I am right with you there. I have just gotten to the point in the Clone Wars where Savage finds him and then couldn't stop binge watching them... I think they did pretty good with his story. I admit, he has a different personality in some scenes due to the voice actor and a bit too much dialogue. Would have preferred a bit more vocal distortion applied to his voice and a bit less wordy characterization for him but still pretty cool character. I liked how his legs were built by Night Witch magic, that was cool (although he already lost one of them, and now Savage lost an arm too- Obi Wan sure likes cutting people to pieces).

I think Savage's personality changed the most though, he became subservient and the way Dooku abused him, I doubt he would give in that quickly... seems they made Maul get really strong really fast. I am also ok with his new fighting techniques, half a saber for half a man, plus he has developed quite a few "Raptoresque" fighting moves with his feet too.

Savage was an interesting character. Then they used him to shoehorn Maul front and center. Opress had more potential as a character than being Maul's instrument.
