Agreed. I'd say this is the next best pose to the Koto but the best 1/4 pose.

I could see that. Now personally, I like the two legs back pose because if I was spidey, I'd be swan diving off **** all the time. I wouldn't be using proper propeltion techniques like people discussed when spidey was teased.... I would be throwing myself off of 70 story buildings head first. Hahaha

Dynamic poses always worked best for me for Spidey. I just don't think the character lends itself well to static poses. Guess that's why I think this one's better than the CQ. Still live that piece though and I have that together with Venom and Carnage as my Centerpiece.

I agree with you. Spidey is a character that is almost always in constant motion. However, the pose on the original COM is a classic Spidey pose and one I don't consider to be static. He's not just standing around in a heroic museum pose. He's hanging off a wall with his webshooter ready to go. We've seen that pose countless of times in books and movies but SSC truly pulled it off in statue form. Especially in 1/4 scale. Most Spidey statues you see out there give you Spidey in a action pose. The COM is special to me because Spidey is in a pose we can all recognize as classic. It's also a pose we actually don't see in statue form that much. Combine all that with the level of detail SSC put into the base....I'll always feel like it's a special statue and that I'm very lucky to have in my collection.

I don't want my love for the original COM to take anything away from this new PF (both the classic and this variant). I think it looks fantastic and if this is the first SSC Spidey for some collectors here...you are in for a treat. Obviously, this is an awesome looking statue in its own right and will make a great addition to any collection. It truly does capture the agility and mobility of the character very well. It's easily the most dynamic Spidey in 1/4 scale and the action pose is only second to the Koto Spidey for me personally. However, there is nothing in this scale that packs as much punch as this new PF. I give SSC major props for pushing the envelope with this Spidey. To pull this pose off in 1/4 scale isn't easy. If this piece is built well and can stand the test of time (meaning no leaning issues), it'll go down as one of SSC's best statues. Deservedly so.

Well yeah that was very well said. I have the red/blue pre ordered. This one I would also love to have. I always thought a pose lunging over a street lamp would be cool. Like a really tall base (metal of course) and Spider Man at the top. It'd be unique

Yeah, you can do a lot of different kind of poses and settings with a character like Spidey in statue form. However, companies have to pull off the engineering in order to make it work. No one wants to have a problem with a statue years down the line. That's the challenging aspect to a company when trying to pull off such dynamic poses.

I'm glad to see all the goodwill for this piece. I wanted to reinforce how good it is so people don't scared away from this awesome stat.

I'm actually loving this piece. I can't believe all the comments about a single promo photo....SS always throws all sorts of colored lights on their statues in their photos... we'll see if it really is that blue... I doubt it. Is terminators endoskeleton red and blue? Unlikely :)

More than just a single promo photo dude. Maybe you missed the leaked photo:

Doesn't mean things can't change by the time we get a final reveal at the Con, but that's 2 photos now.

Either way it's not really unbelievable, it's just a preference. I want this, but I'll either get past the paint job once seeing the whole thing, or not and move on to something else.

Looks good. Remove the exploding pumpkins from the base and lower the price by $100 and I'll think about it :p

I believe there's no pumpkin bombs on the variant. So, you should be good there. The price though...unfortunately, that ain't happening.
