This is also a good step because they've cracked the tv barrier. Maybe Walter white or jax teller is next.

Trying to get ahold of Andy from SS to confirm it is them who got the license. Its been rumored for a while now that they got it, but can't confirm yet. But I think you're right bout SDCC. I think the big announcement will be made there. Only makes sense.

McFarlane toys has the Walking Dead liscense guys. No 1/6 coming. That would be EXTREMELY surprising. If sideshow had that they wouldve shouted it from the rooftops just to get people to stop buying/making customs.

No, Sideshow doesn't normally announce big licenses out of the blue. They wait for an event and sometimes show off the first item as well. IF they have it, they'll announce it at SDCC. I doubt they'd wait till Spooktacular, but that is definitely possible too. This license is right up their alley and since they check the boards regularly, they know there is a market for these!

Probably an announcement at SDCC and maybe show a few WIPs, with the first preorder around Spook (TWD premiere). Sideshow was never really one to capitalize off of hype, but if I had the license, that's exactly what I'd do.

I'd rather see Enterbay or Blitzway with this license (please not Hot Toys). Both companies are much better at human likenesses. Sideshow needs to stick to Star Wars, DC and hopefully Marvel 1:6. However it could be cool if they were a distributor for the line.

Yeah, that would be the ideal way to do it, no doubt.

I could see it being Sideshow (natural fit with their previous Dead line) and I think it would be about the perfect price point for TWD. A good compromise between detail and price (just tighten-up the paint apps a bit). Besides the statement mentioning the company being in the States, it's hard to see HT having any interest in the line. They don't seem to be into 1:6 Horror franchises of any kind, from what I've seen.

Wouldn't Enterbay or Blitzway be as expensive as HT, btw (assuming that's your objection to them getting the line)? I like EBs/Blitzway's stuff (haven't liked a license enough to buy anything, just yet) but price point seems to be closer to HT than SSC (albeit w/better details). Other thing I'd wonder about with these two companies, is they seem to release stuff pretty slowly and then with just one or two iconic characters or versions of the character (ex., War/Respect Scarface). Walking Dead will be a pretty deep line if it's a success, so out of the three, I think only SSC has the capacity to deliver on multiple characters and zombie variations with good turnaround time. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Trevor Grove? :dunno Personally, all I've seen out of Blitzway is Pacino and Enterbay's likenesses are hit and miss and their QC sucks big donkey nuts, so no thanks.

HELL NO! Enterbay has proven themselves unworthy to make anything of quality anymore. Their QC is just laughable now and their CS is nonexistent. They shouldn't get ANY more licenses IMO. And Blitzway is really just Pacinosway at this point. TWD ONLY fits with Sideshow IMO. Its definitely not something HT would do.

I don't own any new 1/6 from SSC. Seeing pics of the new Obi figure it looks like their paint apps have gotten better but I've never seen it in hand. Not HT good but good. Can anyone clarify about their recent stuff?

My problem is not so much with Sideshow's sculpts, especially since they've improved significantly in recent years, and if Trevor or someone of that level in on sculpts that would be great. My major problem with SS is that they are carrying multiple licenses and I'd rather see them focusing on Star Wars and DC (and hopefully Marvel). Hot Toys is stuck on Batman, Iron Man and Avengers at the detriment of other licenses they they are sitting on, so I'd rather see a hungrier company take on TWD. That said if SS unveils some killer figs like Rick, Daryl, Merle and Michonne I'll be all over them.

Their GI Joe stuff, for the most part, is solid. Like any company (including HT), there are hits and misses, but they've hit considerably more home runs with the Joe line than fouls.

The only problem with Sideshow is they fall short of the mark when it comes to carrying a complete line. (Except SW) I believe the market is out there for a complete line of TWD 1/6 figures. The only issue I see is the price point. It's a great line but anything over $129.00 each will scare off a large part of the market.

Flawed logic. Sideshow's the only high-end company that produces several unique characters from licenses. And for $129, you're better off sticking to bootleg releases from the small companies who don't have to pay licensing fees.

Oh yeah, Sideshow or Enterbay would give us much fuller line of characters

HT/EB is good for 1 stand alone figure really. Sideshow is the only company that would make anyone besides Rick or Daryl. Between that fact and given Sideshow's history with horror properties, they
are by far the best choice for this license.

Of course we thought the same thing with McFarlane initially too :lol

If they got rid of the doll dot, and had Trevor sculpt Rick, they could steal SDCC this year. I can just see a figure of Rick from the pilot on display.

Years eh? I suppose you think JC Hong painted their 1/6 Joker? And here was I thinking I could say something without Nam parking down my throat.

Who gives a **** about DC? :lol The Star Wars 1:6 and the Joes haven't had it for years, and if they're doing a TWD line I think the closest comparison would be the Joe line. If the new DC line does have the dot, frankly, given it's the bane of the other 1:6 lines, DC collectors deserve it.
