Is the head sculpt on this set the same as the Age of Ultron Cap? Sorry if this question has been asked before!

As I said, it is not a big enough difference to bother ME. Obviously, that is in the eye of the beholder (well, I thought that was obvious).

Yeah I know the level of difference is just subjective, don't mind me, I am just venting because I am so disappointed in the final product.

This is not a matter of debate - I am not trying to tell you that YOU should be ok with the difference, just please grant the same courtesy to those who disagree with your weighting of the difference.

Yes TBH I actually regretted writing my response to your post and was wondering why I cared so much if other people like this product the way it is, that I felt the need to write such in depth statement that implied they were wrong. If you had not replied I would of deleted my post. :peace

In terms of figures not matching the prototypes, take a look at just recent figures, all of which had big complaints about difference with the prototype::

-Wolverine from the latest movie of that name ,
-Golden Age Cap (yeesh, that expression),
-CA:TWS Black Widow

Golden Age Cap was bad enough that I skipped it.

I agree their recent figures have been pretty bad like Robocop is one of them. However, those ones you mentioned still look like the same figure if you remove the head sculpt, albeit it the head sculpt is usually the main thing people focus on though. Nevertheless, I was talking about the figure overall, it should look the same and those figures you have mentioned still look the same as the prototype overall. I can't think of a single figure other than this one that has differed so much (in a bad way) from the proto IMO. But like I said in my first response the level of difference is subjective to me it looks like a completely different figure made by another company, for others the differences are not significant. So each to their own.

:duff

One other point - I agree that the proportions are significantly different than the prototype for Stealth Cap, but I don't have a preference for the prototype's proportions (that V shape that some really want just doesn't matter to me). What does bug me is the reduced articulation - but not enough that I would mod the figure.

So you will keep him in a museum pose then?

To each their own - I know some LIKE the GA Cap, for example - I am happy for them and would not try to convince them that they SHOULD dislike him. (Different discussion if you want to criticize Sideshow for not more closely matching the prototype - little to argue about there.

Oh that's for sure! However, the body and head sculpts are usually the same, it's just the paint job and level of quality like tailoring of clothes on their PFs are sometimes totally off.

After seeing the AOU pics I cancelled this set. This one isn't bad but I love the AOU one more and needed to money to pay for Starlord. Also the upper body on this figure has always bothered me and it appears to me that they have fixed it for the AOU figure

Well you have to remember that the AOU figure is just the prototype, so the body on the figure could end up looking the same as this one.

I like mod my figure but I would not force or convince other to follow.

Nor do I and the only reason I post pictures of my mods is because I want to get an outsider's view on how much of a difference I have made because I always think to my self did I really make much of a difference?

According to Budget Stark, Hot Toys said it was a totally new head sculpt.

New head sculpt and looking towards the side, vs older head sculpt and looking forward; I may have to bite the bullet and get the 2-pack since I like the looking forward head better.

I don't think so, as his exact words were that Hot Toys said the AOU sculpts are completely new head sculpts, and he then said that was good that they did that because it is better than reusing old head sculpts.

Click on the video below, so you can find out for your self.

It's the same mold. Even HT listed in the specs as newly painted and not new a head sculpt. A new head would mean a different mold which according to the prototype and pictures so far shows the same mold as the stealth Cap. :dunno

So my understanding is its just newly painted. It looks that way to me anyway.

Hey no argument from me I am just telling you what Budget stark said.

No argument dude. Just saying that is what I think he meant. What about what you think?

I do think the head sculpts are pretty awesome though for AOU Cap but the left sided look is just meh, good for limited poses only. I hate it when they do that to a sculpt. Just seems so unnecesarry.

Given the fact that he said that he thinks its good that they using totally new head sculpts instead of reusing old ones I actually think he is suggesting that they are totally different sculpts and thus, not the same mold. Now I am not saying I agree with him but that is the impression that I get from him, besides he only thinks this because according to him Hot Toys says this but obviously he didn't read the specs, where they just say newly painted and not new sculpted heads.

Probably just did it so they wanted to make it look different to the Strike suit Cap set Evan's sculpt.:dunno

So, some guy who posts youtube videos says it's different and then it becomes true?
Lol.

No I am just making a statement, not trying to say who is right and who is wrong. FYI I trust what Hot Toys specs, than some guy on you tube.

It's the same sculpt. Because they got it *right* with the Strike Cap and Steve set.

I know everyone is a big fan of this sculpt but something about it that it is not quite right IMO, not sure what it is, maybe the eyes. :dunno

Nevertheless, it's obvious you can tell who is it meant to be, but it just doesn't blow me away like the sleepy Hollow Depp sculpt.

I believe in the movies the helmet is the same but what is painted silver on the sides is different. There's very little difference between the two in the movies.

These are helmets that a guy sells on the RPF forum. First one is the WS helmet, second one is AoU helmet.
