Media Metal Gear Rising 2 Teased at Taipei Game Show

In a PlayStation 4 lineup trailer show at the Sony booth during the Taipei Game Show, a teaser for what appears to be Metal Gear Rising 2 is shown.

The teaser pops up at 2:46:39 in the linked Twitch stream. Specifically, it’s a “2” created in the style of the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance logo. It follows The Order: 1886, and ends as soon as it arrives.

There was no doubt that a sequel to MGR is in the works, but I guess no one would expect it to be teased this soon. Running off the FOX Engine in 60fps for current gen consoles, one could only imagine how AWESOME this game could end up being!

Definitely my most anticipated Metal Gear game, yes even more so than MGSV.

I'm willing to bet a PC port will be out eventually after the console release, not that any sensible person could wait that long.

I'm going to be honest, these games were meant for the consoles. The graphics are amazing, there's so much environmental detail with the PC release of MGR, and I can slice away at a tree until it renders 1000 parts and slows my PC down to a crawl . It's that detailed. But, I've been using a DS3/DS4 controller, and I've experienced abnormal, intermittent occasions of latency during some of the battle sequences. I'm not sure if it's my hardware setup or the game itself. But, it's quite frustrating.

I'm definitely going to need a PS4 for this.

In that case, you'll be better off playing MGS V .

Platinum develops games on their own engines, and their stories are always over-the-top and silly. If you didn't like MGR, you sure as hell won't like MGR 2.

I don't think MGR prides itself in it's story, it's the jawdropping gameplay and kickass music is what people want more of.

What MGR's story did right was embracing the absurdity of the series, and I'd love to see more of that in the sequel. I remember having to pause the game after the hilarity of something so self-aware like this:

Im gonna play devils advocate. That 2 showed up out of now where, and from what ive heard Kojima announced nothing at the show other than they're localizing MGSV for China. So im gonna say take with a grain of Salt

Id imagine it would be a direct sequel, on the same ultra rediclous action/story it had going on, awesome sauce. My only worry is well never get that canon MGS4 prequel about Raiden becoming a cyborg
