I agree with ZE and OutLander. I've seen some window displays at local stores, as well as one unit I saw being unboxed at another store, and the stitch on the left sleeve varied from okay (since it's never as perfect as the machine-sewn parts of the suit) to bad.

I'm fine with mine Wasn't happy with the stitch on the forehead though as it seemed it's not tightly closed, store gave me a replacement which looks better and has webbings on the neck more aligned with the webbings on the body's collar. Here's a picture where the left sleeve can clearly be seen (I'm yet to take pictures with the new head).

I haven't been following this thread recently, but I'm kind of thinking of selling my ASM 1 figure and using the money to go towards this one...I really loved the Raimi films and seeing number 3 was one of the best movie-going experiences I've ever had (that's another story), and I must admit I jumped on the "Raimi movies suck" bandwagon when the newest Spider-Man films came out. I love Andrew Garfield, but I've really gone off the Amazing movies and have found myself ultimately preferring the original ones. This suit, as others have said, is as classic as it gets. It can be used as a more broad representation of the character, rather than the ASM 1 figure, which can't really be divorced from that film so easily because of the unique suit.

The only thing is that the figure from the first Amazing movie is my first Hot Toy. I have Star Lord and Winter Soldier Cap on pre-order, but the Amazing Spider-Man is special to me I guess, being my first Hot Toy. I'm afraid of regretting selling him, but after having some distance from the Amazing films, I definitely don't like them as much as I used to. What to do...

I got this figure for Christmas, and echo most everyone else's comments here. Sweet figure. Best 1/6 Spidey yet, but some QC-type problems that will necessitate a return if possible. I've got black splotches on the head, which wouldn't be so noticeable except they are right next to the bright red seam down the middle of his head. Two right open hands (one was assembled incorrectly on the packaged figure), and the web won't fit in the left web shooter. It actually pulled the fabric out of his hand when I tried to get it to stay in.

Still, such an aesthetic improvement over the old Spidey 3 version. And the backpack and vest are excellent. Might even pose him with the backpack from time to time. Has me very optimistic about Marty McFly!

i love my new Spidey figure , one slight issue that bothers me is the webbing should be darker. But I think it would be an absolute nightmare trying to repaint it with the risk of getting paint on the suit . You would have to be absolutely slow and steady and then there is the risk of the paint scratching off later or peeling .
Has anyone tried the webbing repaint yet ?

They are but I'm not sure they are supposed to be. One of mine is pretty loose and pops off pretty easily with certain poses but still stands perfectly without a stand. Love this figure. It's really great. I'd definitely say go for it.

Ask yourself if you really want the little tube and the cardboard insert for the stand.


If you can get the figure for less go for it. It's a good figure, but don't spend more than you need to on it.

I said no, I ordered a lot cheaper ($50+ less) from a CDN online guy since the exclusive did not interest me....and thier stock was AN EXCLUSIVE ONE!
